In a blistering election year attack on his political foes, President Barack Obama charged Thursday that Republicans are "licking their chops" over painfully high gas prices that threaten the fragile economic recovery.
"Only in politics do people root for bad news and they greet bad news so enthusiastically," he said in a combative speech at the University of Miami. "You pay more, and they're licking their chops."
The defiant rhetoric came after days in which the White House has worked to get off the defensive over high gasoline prices, insisting that Obama has done everything he can to bring those costs down. The administration blamed sticker shock at the pump on unrest in the Middle East, speculative trading, and hightened demand in China, Brazil, and India.
Obama assured Americans that he feels their pain, saying the rise in gas prices "hurts everybody" and "means you've got to find even more room in a budget that was already tight."

All he would have to do to to ease the gasoline prices for quite some time (and increase employment in the U.S.) is to start by allowing the Canadian oil pipeline through the United States. But he's too obsessed with pandering to the Left. Plus, contrary to what he's saying now, high gas prices - as in Europe - were his goal from the get-go.
Notice that the "feel your pain" routine is right out of the Clinton playbook.
In 2008 Obama was running around blaming republicans for the horribly high gas prices ($1.80), claiming that gas price was the most critical thing in the USA.
Now he complains because someone has “politicized gas prices”.
And who exactly wrote the article stating that Republicans were licking their chops? Stephanopolous? Carville? Most lil=kely a setup planned in advance for a coordinated media rollout.
Oh no you don’t Barry, you OWN these gas prices!!!
Shout the good news! It’s how this regime measures success:
Somehow, we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe. - Obama’s Energy Secretary Steven Chu
Yo, brrak, I got your “chops” right here.
Ping!!!
Sadly, for the country, Barry firmly believes that is is NOT his fault. All his life he was told he can do nothing wrong.
Harry Reid noted a few years ago that a few cents’ rise in the price of gas was worth a few more seats in the House and Senate for the Dems, IIRC...

This from the same people who cheered with every death
in Iraq.
The seem to now be sparing us of the pain of hearing about those 1000+ who have died in Obamas wars since he's been in office.
Nary a peep.
Consider the audience. If it was Dade county, a solid 2/3 of that county is purple. Miami hasn’t had a R mayor in over 50yrs or something like that.
This guy is bordering on psycho. He is going to slip up badly one of these days...or he may even break.

That's absolutely right and this image makes it clear at a glance:
Read the first few paragraphs. Notice how this writer makes Obama sound heroic, wonderful, strong. He doesn’t exactly say this, but his words certainly give that impression.
Similarly, the reporter pretty much sympathizes with Obama’s attack on the Republicans.
Obama is a nasty piece of work. Everything is always someone else’s fault. You’d think that the media might occasionally question this. But they never do. Even when he is screaming and yelling in the most partisan fashion imaginable, as he is here, somehow Obama is the good guy, and the Republicans are the nasty villains for questioning him.
And, in fact, the Republicans mostly just sit there with their mouths open and take whatever he gives them.
GAS WAS $1.85 per gallon on the day Obama was Inaugurated! - - freeper Gaffer
Thank you!
This *thing* and his *wife* disgust me..
You sure got that right. I don’t see any more tallies since he took office. over and over, day after day, headline after headline during the last administration.
How I despise this administration and the puppet media that covers for him.

Thanks for the ping!
Sadly, there are about 30% of the people in this country who believe every filthy lie this man says.
Assuming we can dump his butt in November, it is insulting and offensive that not only have we taxpayer's had to absorb the huge debt he has created, but we will have to pay him an outrageous "pension" as a former president. I have no doubt that he will be as bad or worse than Clinton as a former president. We will NEVER be rid of him . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Unless . . . . . . . someone brings real charges against him for fraud, treason, sedition, malfeasance and lying to the Congress, the American people and the world about his birth, national origin, religion and eligibility to be POTUS. With a conviction, he should be thrown UNDER the prison and Moochelle should have to work her ugly fat butt off for the rest of her life trying to pay back every penny of which these trailer trash have defrauded the American people.
Obummer is defending the indefensible. We have to make him feel the pain at the ballot box in November.
