Newt Gingrich emerged Thursday as the first Republican White House hopeful to criticize President Barack Obama for apologizing after Muslim holy books containing extremist language were burned by NATO soldiers.
Gingrich told a crowd in Spokane, Washington, "President Obama surrendered twice today and I think that deserves to be brought to the country's attention."
**snip**
He continued, "The president apologized for the burning, but I haven't seen the president demand that the government of Afghanistan apologize for the killing of two young Americans."
Gingrich said Obama was ignoring the treat of radical Muslims intent on harming Americans.
"There seems to be nothing that radical Islamists can do to get Barack Obama's attention in a negative way, and he is consistently apologizing to people who do not deserve the apology of the president of the United States, period," Gingrich said.

WTG, Newt. Nail that SOB.
Wrong Rick. I’d bet on Newt selecting Gov Perry for veep.
Some of my friends and I were at the Spokane rally when Newt said this. It was a great moment for him. After the rally, a CBS reporter came up to us and said that his boss in NY wanted him to get responses to this statement. We told him we weren’t interested in talking to CBS. You can bet the liberal media is trying to manufacture a controversy about this. My money’s on Newt to make them cry like little girls.
I applaud Newt for his comment.
I just watched the Republican debate (I taped it) and am I imagining things or does it appear to anyone else that Romney and Paul appear to be ‘tag-teaming’ Rick Santorum?
Paul is a one-trick-pony who turns every question into a discussion of federal government intervention in our lives.....never offering any solutions, but he keeps beating that horse.
I am actually looking for input from any Freeper who has noticed that Paul, in every debate I have watched, has never singled out Romney to chastise.
It really struck me while watching the debate that Paul was acting the ‘Stooge’, which is an apt description of Ron, for Romney. Otherwise, he restricts his comments to attacks on Rick.
It also was interesting to listen (not having watched the debate until tonight) to pundits opine that Newt didn’t do well in the debate......my wife and I thought he did VERY well. His comment noting that no one in the main stream media had the courage to ask obama why he supported infanticide should be a bumper sticker, in my opinion.
EODGUY
Nothing on FOX about Newt on this. Just more coverage of protests.
Gingrich first to hit Obama
For a second there.
I sense a Newt re-surge!
Believe it or not, Rush made a big deal about the unholy Paul/Romney alliance today.
They did the same thing in Iowa and Florida to Newt. They're clearly in cahoots.
But, you still nailed it....he's an asshat (or worse)......
GO NEWT!
It is because MI has a large Muslin population that the candidates should speak out. People in Michigan may be tired of being bullied and walking on egg eggshells.
Enough is enough.
Thanks for telling me!
I no longer watch Faux, unless I’m told Sarah Palin or Newt Gingrich are going to be guests.
‘How about wasting our men and women?’
So very sad - - -
Click my screen name - hope this energizes many.
I’m part of a team that has been sending a few boxes of ‘comfort items’ monthly for over 6 years, to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Altho not Iraq currently.
You can bet we’d like to be sending that money to organizations that help our wounded right here.
Which we will do when we’re out of those He__ Holes.
At the very least, one can send $$$ to the ‘USO,’or ‘Wounded Warriors’ - look them up on Charity Navigator.
Maybe you know of others.
Obama is a "kitty" by comparison.
Are you sure? Santorum was not in the House after 1994 when he was first elected to the US Senate.
He has since been very disprespectful to his mentor, I will give you that: calling him "Congressman, instead of Speaker" and running attack ads, that are filled with falsehoods, etc.
Thanks for the heads up on the conference call! I just dialed in. Honestly, I can’t believe how tireless Newt and Calista both are. We were all talking about how he had just come from Kennewick, was on his way to a fundraiser in Idaho, to be followed by another rally in Coeur d’Alene this evening. He sounded and looked absolutely rested and refreshed this afternoon.
Please pray for our Marines and their families and please pray for our troops in Afghanistan!
Where is the apology from the Taliban and Afghans for killing two of our Brave Warriors?!!! Please pick up the phone today and call your Congressman and Senators and ask them that! I have sat and watched this administration do NOTHING BUT APOLOGIZE and Al Qaeda and the Taliban are laughing at us and they are emboldened like never before!
If nothing else, please call Buck McKeon’s office, Charmian of the House Armed Services Committee.... (202) 225-1956 and Senator Levin's office, Charmian of the Senate Armed Svc Committee... (202) 224-6221.
Here's two more numbers to call...Senator Graham...(202) 224-5972
Senator John McCain...(202) 224-2235
Ask them when are they going to stand up for our Troops over there and demand an apology for the murder of those two brave American Soldiers!!!!!
