A smoking ban will prevent NASCAR fans from lighting up in the grandstands at Daytona International Speedway starting with the Coke Zero 400 in July.
Fans will be required to use certain designated areas behind the grandstands once the ban takes effect.
Joie Chitwood III, the Speedway's president, said it's a sign of the times and that no other venue in Florida allows smoking in the stands.

Whatever. The entire world should ban smoking and ban the existence of tobacco - a totally USELESS product, like pit bulls and democraps.
Not much “use” for alcohol or non-procreation sex either.
It’s rare to a NASCAR enthusiast that DOESN’T smoke. This won’t go over well at all. What’s next? Lowfat nacho cheese and baked Lays potato chips?
The concession stand foods will be monitored by the greatest of the great food monitors, Mrs. Dear Leader...
Yep, and wash it down with a Coke Zero.
With due respect, YOU are part of the problem. I have no use for tobacco myself - but anyone who condones banning of a legal substance - which you have just done - is part of the problem. What are you going to do when something you think is useful is the target?
So you want to ban something you don't like.
What a crapweasel you must be.
“...a totally USELESS product...”

Just like the race sponsor, “coke zero”?
Boy did you step in it, buddy. As a cigar smoker, I take issue with your assessment. The money I pay in taxes alone for each cigar I buy probably affects your life in some way. Take away the tobacco tax cash cow, and I'd bet you'd find something else to bitch about.
Useless to who? Just you, or the millions of people who use it?
The NASCAR fans who smoke have the option to vote with their wallets by not attending. In this case it is not the government but a private enterprise limiting smoking.
All those fragrant incenses, candles, airwicks, etc. that is used in a house is probably worse for you than a whiff of smoke.
This wont go over well at all.
NASCAR survived the ban on tobacco involvement back some years ago which took sponsorship from cars, races, etc. The fans will adapt.
I’d say your tagline applies to you, pal. Lieberal Dimocrats want to control peoples lives...that label fits you to a tee. Not a lot of room for freedom in your world, is there?
This is interesting to me because the ONLY place I go these days where there is smoking allowed is the race track.
Having grown up in a smoking household, and worked in smoke-filled offices for many years, it now is really noticeable to encounter a place where smoking is allowed.
Attendance will go down b/c of the smoking ban, so ticket prices will go up which will further drive attendance down, so ticket prices will necessarily go up again....and so it will go.
But at least NASCAR will be PC compliant. Bah!
