I didn’t think the debate was as bad as people are making it out to be. You also have to remember that Gingrich did not do well the previous two debates when he was the frontrunner with Romney.

I haven’t seen that, and it’s not right, but I have seen you on multiple Santorum threads going after Santorum.

I agree with you. The MSM is picking up on the fact Ron Paul never attacks Romney. The Sanotrum campaign said they think Romney might pick Ron Paul for VP. However, I don’t think that’s it. I think Romney might pick a Paul, but not Ron, Rand.

I almost feel like I would give up if Obama gets another 4— I won’t— but I am tired and morale is down.

Time to pull back from watching the election and take a breath of fresh air. Pet your dog or cat...go to a movie...shop...clean a closet or two..but stop listening and clear your mind for a time.

The entire “cheerful” comment was a lark. “How dumb of a question can you come up with, Alright I'll play along but don't expect me to be serious. The question is a joke and I'll answer it with a joke....Let's see what can I say that will get people talking, that is so ridiculous that everyone will see it's absurd....Hmmmm.”

The wheels were turning and the twinkle in the eye were there....”CHEERFUL”

The audience got it.... but they didn't. They laughed. Today I've seen his “cheerful” played again and again. HE WON. Got people attention in a positive upbeat way.

GO NEWT!

I’m not ashamed of going on that thread or of anything I posted on that thread. If you can cite something specific that I said to you or others that rates an apology, I’ll consider it.

From what I saw, you never said anything that you needed to apologize for.

Huge difference. In Clinton’s case, he was ALREADY President, and the women who were duped by the Predator-in-Chief had to grasp for reasons to justify their foolishness. In Newt’s example, they HAVEN’T voted for him yet, so they can more easily project their anger toward their no-good boyfriend, husband or dad on him. *I* think he’s sincere about turning his life around, but I’m just one person, and I’m a guy. Bob

Any time, Norm, and BTW, “Nostradamus” is a great Al Stewart song, with one of the most amazing guitar solos ever written. Bob

He should have said “The TERMINATOR !”

I loved the "cheerful" comment because it was so unexpected -- the others were trying to be so serious. But you're right, the terminator or something similar would have been great. I guess he can't think of everything. I still think Newt was at the top of his game last night.

Except..... that polls say that Rick CAN win, and his Obama attacks have just begun. No one will hit the Punk harder than Rick Santorum on the campaign trail. Newt would too be fearless as well, but major issues such as the global warming hoax, TARP and individual health control mandates would be off the table or nullified if Newt won. And Newt was out front supporting a GOP-killing idea of statehood for Puerto Rico. Bob

Why do the reasons the women provide have anything to do with it? I’m talking about Clinton hypothetically being reelected, or simply look at his approval/popularity polls now. If Newt has problems with approval/popularity, it’s because of the media spin and smears against him which were rampant in the ‘90s. It’s the same reason Palin or Rush Limbaugh have problems with approval ratings. The media practices mind control on people to make people think they’re evil, stupid, mean, etc. They’ll do it to real conservatives every time they start to become popular. It doesn’t mean that those conservatives can’t overcome the bad press if they can speak directly to the people, like Reagan did, as well as Rumsfeld did during his famed press briefings in the 2000s.

Robin, the “bitter pill” that we will ALL have to swallow if Santorum doesn’t prevail is a choice between a Marxist and a socialist. If anyone thinks that there exists a Republican that doesn’t have more than a few nauseating votes thanks to soft-headed Bush, (s)he is mistaken. And anyone who thinks that ROMNEY would have had a better ACU rating than Santorum had HE served in Congress during the Bush and Clinton years is simply a dupe. Bob

I agree with what you say, granted, but there are many, many women who buy the adage, “Once a cheater, always a cheater”. They don’t believe him, and no one can do anything about that. The disparity in the polls among men and women supporting Newt testifies to what I am saying. Cordially, Bob

That’s what you said in the first place, Bob, and you’re not responding to the fact that Clinton has strong approval from women. That proves this isn’t about “cheating,” it’s either about what I said or something else. For example, I don’t think Santorum polls as well with women either. Most women don’t like social conservatives because many have been programmed by colleges to think they’re a “minority” and that straight, white males are out to get them. They’re programmed to think pro-life views and so forth are “anti-woman.” You’re not responding to my argument at all.

” There was not*h*ing new tonight. This was all stated on the campaign trail. “

There may have been “nothing new” for Newt from his campaign trail, but his cogent, precise, and succinct delivery last night of his deliberate intentions for policy, raises heads every time he speaks, especially when he delivers in true to form fashion.

It Newt’s natural and expressive countenance that seldom fails to reflect that of a statesman. Newt, however, needed to overcome his Florida debate performance, where he was seen as stunned by both the unnatural audience before him, who had arrived well arranged to be a majority of noise makers, bought and paid for by Romney, who cheered his every utterance often before the punch line was ever delivered. Secondarily, Newt admitted of himself that he was dumbfounded by Romney himself, by his noisy spray of negative hysterics against Newt displayed on stage that night, in the debate, like trying to nail pudding onto a wall.

Last night Newt was at his best, likely prepared for much worse, and/or certainly prepared to be marginalized.

On the other hand, your premise that, “all was stated on the campaign trail”, does not apply to Santorum on the old campaign trail, who last night was finally revealed to have (how ever indirectly) willingly lent some support towards the status quo of abortion law, and the status quo of access to abortion, by his own Title votes!

The revelation of this issue was something dragged out, but not discussed by Santorum on the campaign trail, won’t you agree? Ron Paul finished Rick off when he aptly described him as an excuse maker, routinely making excuses when campaigning, for each of his perpetual legislative excesses while in office, and with a record full of those excesses.

AND, they still have not even started on Rick’s ties to the union, his pro-union leniency.

Clinton’s strong approval from brainwashed women, despite the fact that he is a rapist, comes from years of specious propaganda that has seeped in. Clinton is a charmer, much like Bundy, UNLIKE nEWT, and I hate to say it, but most women believe that they are good judges of men, and once their decision is made, it’s hard for them to admit they’d been wrong. This is a GENERALIZATION.

“I agree with you. :)”

Thanks, Pinkbell - I like to share that article with those I think would appreciate it (and also those who wouldn’t :-)). It answers a lot of questions and gives good points for use when having to deal with Paul-bots who call him and themselves conservative. Glad you liked it!
