LIVE DEBATE THREAD (Is it too early to start?)
To be honest, Romney’s best bet if he won the primary would be to pick Newt for his V.P. Those two is where the greatest divisiveness among the Republican electorate is. That would inevitably help unite the party. If those two were able to “kiss and make up” it would be hard for Romney and Newt supporters to keep fighting. I know Romney would do it if he thought it would help him since he has core values. And despite the hype, Newt is not a mean or angry person at all and doesn’t hold grudges. He would always be willing to forgive and forget for the good of the country or the party. And he would of course love to be at the table of helping to set right national policy even in the V.P. slot. As the two best vote-getters in the primary so far, they would arguably make an electorally strong ticket for defeating Obama. I have no interest in voting for Romney but the only way he could secure my vote would be to pick Newt as V.P. I have a feeling Romney would be willing to admit to Newt behind-the-scenes that he isn’t prepared and would take Newt’s advice. The only real hope with Romney is that because he has no core values, he would agree to let someone else feed him conservative policy which he would just follow. But I would certainly hope Newt does NOT pick Romney if he ends up at the top of the ticket.
When Switzerland isn’t allowed into the session, you can hardly blame them for not jumping in.
I’m always glad to see you here, Josh.
Your clarity uplifts me and I need talking off the ledge :)
he's covering Romneys flank....
Paul has no interest in attaining the Presidency and stated so. He stated he wants HIS message out there and sees running as the means of doing so. Unfortunately he's fooled many of his supporters and used their money to do so and wasted time for all. I detest the man for wasting the peoples time during such an important Primary election.
Can’t put your finger on it? I have had doubts, but he
certainly has strong opinions and isn’t hesitant.
We certainly don’t need a whiner or a suck-up. We already HAVE
one of those in the White House!
Yes, unfortunately.
It was a vibe, not performance based. A hunch, nothing more.
They are not my picks.
Well in the victimhood status chase I claim top honors for the Palin camp. And your lead Perry fan was a regular on our threads stirring crap until the hammer fell.
It’s done. We all need to get over it.
Libertarians like Ron Paul, Judge Napolitano, Gary Johnson and John Stossel have all the same political views as far-lefties like Dennis Kucinich except they have an anarchist’s approach to government.
Har!
He’s so boring its dangerous.
Perry was brutalized while he was recovering from back surgery and he was dismissed in SC when he made a come back in the debates.
He says now that the “heartless” thing was his biggest mistake.
Everyone knows he was on meds and that it was a fiscal matter forced on the State by the Feds, but he fouled up and did not play the angle of the Feds imposing themselves on the States in a coherent way that resonated.
He went to the “heartless” well.
I understood it, but many did not.
yea so refreshing when he repeated romnwy was right over and over.
I don’t know what you mean. I was a Palin fan originally, really disappointed when she didn’t run.
If you mean CW, she was never nasty. I’m talking nasty here and I will NEVER get over it or respect the freepers who participated in it.
I have a list so I won’t forget who they are.
It’s not something to get over. But I probably should stop bringing it up.
I think Newt helped everyone out, especially Rick, by knocking the wind out of the contraception issue before anyone got mired in it.
No he isn't. ....IMO Rick would try and run the country like the Senate he's familar with....and that won't work. He has far too much to learn yet about statesmanship and what that is and means. He's still wet behind the ears and frankly shouldn't be given his years in the Senate...but then that is why he doesn't have but a handfull of Congressional leaders supporting him....they are more than familiar with how he operates....and we in Pa. sure are!!!!
Aww...I thought you were talking about Newt nagging you, but
you meant Santorum. I getcha.
I think he’s a bad actor and isn’t as conservative as he wants
us to believe. His voting record is not that great.
I am so torn. I wish it were over...and then we in Texas have to wait till forever to get our say! That stinks!
Cain hated Perry BAD.
Tried to pin that whole “Naggerhead BS” on him, and it worked.
Yay!
She was passive-agressive. But that’s neither here nor there.
We all should drop it. At this point, it serves no purpose.
They probably have done poorly in school and work compared to more intelligent people. Therefore these Rick supporters can’t win the argument on the merits and need to resort to insults and spreading lies about Newt. Rick’s supporters write some of the most incoherent, sloppy, garbled posts on here and many seem functionally illiterate.
******************
I’m a Gingrich supporter and I resemble that comment. Though I’ve generally done well at work and I mostly...MOSTLY...try and avoid insulting. I always avoid lying— though, in ignorance, I may have posted something not factual.
There are as many bright Santorum supporters as there are Gingrich supporters. On both sides there are some of us lacking in formal education but I don’t believe that means a person has a thinking deficit.
I do believe Gindrich supporters have made a better choice. hahaha! :p
