Hit the nail on the head. There is no civil war. Assad has a clear advantage. He will have that advantage as long as Russia, China, Iran and some Iraqi Shiites has his back and continue supplying him.
There are no Russian warships in Syria. They have all left the region. The last major Russian asset to have been at Tartus was the Russian Navy Tanker Ivan Bubnov. This is now heading back to the Black Sea. The Russian carrier Task Force left the Mediterranean weeks ago and all the assets returned to their respective fleets.
We are not helping Syria because there are a lot of Christians in Syria and Assad protects them. Hussein is waiting for the “freedom fighters” to win because they are radical muslims, just like in Iraq and Egypt.
