US, Britain urge Israel not to attack Iran

JERUSALEM — The U.S. and Britain on Sunday urged Israel not to attack Iran's nuclear program as the White House's national security adviser arrived in the region, reflecting growing international jitters that the Israelis are poised to strike.

In their warnings, both the U.S. joint chiefs of staff, Gen. Martin Dempsey, and British Foreign Minister William Hague said an Israeli attack on Iran would have grave consequences for the entire region and urged Israel to give international sanctions against Iran more time to work. Dempsey said an Israeli attack is "not prudent," and Hague said it would not be "a wise thing."

Israel ought to tell Obama to stick it. Obama spends three full years ignoring Israel, aiding and abbetting her enemies, giving money to Hamas in his first week in office, ignoring the pleas of the Iranians for a legitimate regime, giving away the candy store to Putin, and now—right up next to an election—Obama pretends to give a damn about Israel’s security.

I truly believe that Israel should instruct both the US and the UK to either lead, follow, or get out of the way, as regarding Israel's (presumably, forthcoming) assault upon Iran's nuclear facilities.

I’ve heard so much about an “imminent” attack on Iran over the past ten years that I’ve grown cynical. I pay as much attention to these stories as I do the promises of American politicians to move the US Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.
