White House press secretary Jay Carney on Monday offered President Barack Obama's condolences to Whitney Houston's family, following the singer's death over the weekend.

"I know that his thoughts and prayers are with her family, especially her daughter," Carney said, referring to 18-year-old Bobbi Kristina Brown. "It's a tragedy to lose somebody so talented at such a young age."

"Oh booohooo, birds of a feather........"

Say what you will, as this nation was ramping up to war in the Desert in '91, Houston delivered what is one of the most stirring, passionate and poignant performances of the National Anthem that has been recorded. She gave a similar rendition some time later to welcome our servicemembers back to Norfolk.

A fellow drug addict bites the dust.

If Whitney were “white,” he wouldn’t have a damn thing to say.

What is really needed is for someone to do a study on the fatal attraction of drugs and musicians. That would be a worthwhile legacy to protect future stars from destruction.

Her rendition was pre cocaine days and yes, it was magnificent, no one has come close to matching it. Just because she can sing doesn’t make her a saint, and as I asked, when was the last time the cocaine abuser in chief gave his condolences to a soldier’s family.

Gee....I was waiting for Obama to break into one of my favorite programs.

I'm sure Ellen Degeneres (the white Oprah) will invite all of Whitney's buds to come on her show.

According to those who knew her, her "pre-cocaine" days were in her teens.

Another victim, she didn’t kill herself with drugs it was the drugs that killed her.

I am waiting for them to name a US warship after her. Seems only fitting since we’ll soon have a USS Gabrielle Giffords. Good lord what is wrong with these lunatics?

I was saying yesterday that the music industry should be doing something about this. Why aren't the companies trying to help these folks. Yes I know that Whitney went to rehab a few times but I think the music industry could do more. They basically lifted them to stardom, made millions off of them and then kicks them to the curb. Oh and when one of them dies, they are all sorry. NO they need to do more. As the numbers increase (which they will), hopefully their will be a big call for action by these music Moguls. This is what the SWO (liberal groups protesting)....not sure of the name, but they would be more successful if they took on this issue.

While their songs go to the top of download charts on iTunes, further proving that, Death is a great career move.

I didn’t remember who she was, late last night I realized that she was not Donna Summers, who I had been confusing her with, and then today I read at BigHollywood that she was also an actress, I even had seen some, of one of her movies.
