President Obama sent Congress a $3.8T budget proposal Monday that he says is a reflection of shared responsibility and aims to pour billions of dollars in increased spending into the down economy to inject some immediate life there.
Appearing at Northern Virginia Community College, Obama who continued to hammer home his policies aimed at helping the middle class said that while the budget he put forward included some difficult cuts, it aims to help the economic recovery accelerate.
The economy is growing stronger, recovery is speeding up and the last thing we can afford to do right now is to go back to the very policies that got us into this mess in the first place, Obama said. We cant afford it. The last thing we need is for Washington to stand in the way of Americas comeback.
Obamas proposal includes $350 billion in stimulus measures and $476 billion for transportation and infrastructure that would be partially paid for by savings from the end of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
It would reduce projected deficits by $3 trillion over 10 years. That reduction would be achieved through $1.5 trillion in new taxes, including the end of Bush-era tax rates for families with income above $250,000 annually; $800 billion in savings from the end of the two wars; $278 billion in mandatory spending cuts; and $360 billion in Medicare and other entitlement cuts.
The King hath spoken. He does not dictate to Congress. They dictate to him.
Somehow I don’t think “Shared Responsibility” is the same as SHARED BURDEN !!
And please remind me how the near 50% who pay NO federal income tax are “sharing the responsibility”?
Another vote buying scheme.
If a nuke went off in DC and took out all of these thieves and grifting looters like obama i would throw a block party.
obama is a black plague on this nation.
And for you DHS, CIA, FBI, ATF, drones and incompetent thugs and hacks working for obama - FU too. Put me on whatever list you want you Judas’
Easy, you make it, they take it.
If that's not 50/50 in sharing the responsibility of spending your money, then I don't know my man, karl marx {or was it groucho?}.
Problem is you won’t hear a word from the GOP. They should be screaming from the rooftops that if massive govt. spending was the key to a better economy, we’d have 100% growth right now. But instead, they are happy to let Obama continue rob us in order to hand out favors and bribes to his constituents.
“Shared” = “collective”
As in “collective farm.”
Exactly
"If you eliminate billions in subsidies to militant muslim countries you will destroy the US recovery!"
“And please remind me how the near 50% who pay NO federal income tax are sharing the responsibility?”
Didn’t the Bush tax cuts raise the floor on taxable income?
If the Bush tax cuts take effect, it would lower the annual family income that would now have to pay taxes.
Funny that is never mentioned in the MSM.
Huh? How does that work?
More "stimulus" spending not so humbly offered, and with a straight face.
This is madness. Is anyone still denying that the Kenyan Kommie seeks to destroy this country as we've known it & rebuild it in his own image?
I work on the “Collective Maker Farm” working for those watching over at the “Collective Taker Farm”.
How about the House pull a Senate and simply not pass a budget?
Would they be forced to use last years numbers?
or the House should pass a $2T budget and see what the Dems do. lol
Any other children of the 80’s remember the democrats going nuts over “Reagan’s” 3 trillion dollar national debt? The media ran stories about how it would be impossible to pay off and how cash could be stacked as high as the moon yada yada and how Reagan was destroying our nation.
Now its just 1 years budget and all of sudden 3 trillion (3.8 actually) is no big deal.
And now here they are, applauding the Obama's 20 million dollar taxpayer subsidized Hawaii weekends.
My times have changed, haven't they.
