Today, the Obama administration hastily called a press conference to announce a change to its HHS mandate for employers to cover contraception at no cost, including religious organizations whose doctrines oppose contraception and abortifacients. Instead of religious organizations footing the bill directly, the revised "accommodation" now says that insurers must cover the costs, which changes --- nothing:
The revised Obama mandate will make religious groups contract with insurers to offer birth control and the potentially abortion-causing drugs to women at no cost. The revised mandate will have religious employers refer women to their insurance company for coverage that still violates their moral and religious beliefs. Under this plan, every insurance company will be obligated to provide coverage at no cost.
Essentially, religious groups will still be mandated to offer plans that cover both birth control and the ella abortion drug
According to Obama administration officials on a conference call this morning, a womans insurance company will be required to reach out directly and offer her contraceptive care free of charge. The religious institutions will not have to pay for it.
The birth control and abortion-causing drugs will simply be part of the bundle of services that all insurance companies are required to offer, White House officials said.
So these employers will still have to provide the health insurance, and the health insurance must cover the contraception and abortifacients. The White House apparently wants t pretend that the funds for these outlays will come off of the Unobtanium Tree, where insurers find money to cover all mandates. This exposes once again a stunning ignorance of risk pools and how costs are passed along to consumers.
Let’s just take this one step at a time. Where do insurers get money to pay claims? They collect premiums and co-pays from the insured group or risk pool. No matter what the Obama administration wants to say now, the money that will cover those contraception costs will come from the religious organizations that must now by law buy that insurance and pay those premiums. Their religious doctrines have long-standing prohibitions against participating in contraception and abortion, and nothing in this “accommodation” changes the fact that the government is now forcing them to both fund and facilitate access to products and services that offend their practice of religion.
Basically, the Obama administration told religious organizations to stop complaining and get in line. This “accommodation” only attempts to accommodate Obama’s political standing and nothing more.
I had to drop insurance. My premiums skyrocketed so high since thugbamacare set in I had no choice.
I would throw a party and dance in the streets if a nuke were set off in DC took out all these pofs.
Look folks, Obama should be impeached. This guy is just as power hungry and controlling as all of the worst despot and dictators the world has seen!!! The sooner we come to that true conclusion about him the better off we all will be. This guy is no friend of the USA, nor “any of its people”. He and his wife are not Christians. They are either Muslims or non-believers, that really believe they are living gods born to rule and abuse all others except themselves. That mantra is as clear as the noses on your faces, American citizens. It’s time to throw this guy, Obama out of office, either by his own resignation, or impeachment. IMHO, he is an clear and present enemy of the state!!!
“This is, of course, the the intended result.”
Well, its one step to the final result. The ultimate goal isn’t government health insurance, it is government health CARE.
I’ve heard having a beer or two every evening is beneficial. I want the government to buy my beer!
Unfortunately when he gets up there and says “I’m going to force a Big Grrrreeeedy Eeeeeeevil Corporation to give you something for FREE!”, a lot of people are going to swallow it and then applaud him.
You need to get out a little more - viagra is already on the list of approved drugs for nursing home guys who can’t get enough...lol. (seriously) It has been REQUIRED for years - all the ED drugs for men. Go figure. Why?
“Next, Viagra and Levitra will be considered needs, mark my words.”
Contraception, with very few exceptions, does not rectify, eliminate, minimize any medical condition. Minus the few exceptions prescribing contraception simply allows for play without pay.
Fact 1# requiring insurance cos. to pay for this must not be allowed to side step the issue as that “free, non-medical treatment” will be part of the monthly premium. You can bury it as deeply in the fine print as you want but the evil messiah is still forcing religious organizations to pay for this.
Fact #2: Where does the President get the authority to even make such mandates. If he can do this, then lets fire every Senator and member of the house as we obviously no longer need the legislative branch of government. And we might as well eliminate the USSC as they sure are not following the Constitution.
“Why not just forbid pharmaceutical companies from charging for birth control agents and forbid doctors and other health care providers from charging for abortions? After all, it is a right.”
Some government explanation along those lines wouldn’t surprise me at all. There are people out there who actually think that the “Free Lunch” is actually free. The cost of the real lunch that funded the “Free Lunch” doubled... see where this is going? Charlatans rely on charades.
Citizen, it is not correct to challenge or question your betters. Now go back to work and pay your taxes.
“Under the Senate health care bill that will be the main bill Obama and Democrats push through Congress, there is no ban on abortion funding. While some states can opt out of funding abortions under the plan, taxpayers in other states will be forced to pay for them.
But the bill contains other pro-abortion problems that are concerns for pro-life advocates.
The bill requires that at least one health care plan be promoted across the country that pays for abortions, more abortion funding would come via the affordability credits, and many of the so-called limits on abortion funding in the Senate bill are temporary and could expire or be overturned at a later date.
The Senate health care bill also pays for abortions under the Indian Health Service program.
And it contains the Mikulski amendment that would allow the Obama administration to define abortion as preventative care and force insurance plans to pay for abortions.
Finally, the Senate bill does not contain language needed to offer full conscience protection for pro-life medical workers and facilities. “

The Stupak Dozen and the moot EO that does not override law is brought to mind here.........
Where ARE the Stupak Dozen?
“Ive heard having a beer or two every evening is beneficial. I want the government to buy my beer!”
Excessive consumption of beer can cause you to pass out before you can have sex, therefore it is a contraceptive.
No, not Viagra. Barry needs all the Viagra to make him stand up straight.
one can be at the ‘peak’ of ‘male readiness’ and still be shooting blanks ..(leaving aside all the female issues
affecting fertility).
“Unfortunately when he gets up there and says Im going to force a Big Grrrreeeedy Eeeeeeevil Corporation to give you something for FREE!, a lot of people are going to swallow it and then applaud him.”
*************
Exactly and one step further: the RATS can now say they’re “willing to compromise” but the EVIL church and GOP don’t want to play ball and are acting unreasonably.
Mandating private company cost-coverage is a hidden tax.
There is still a cost to the economy although the corporations are bound to be more efficient at administering the tax than the government would.
When the Pope says no to this and declares the sanctity of human life out of the hands of any politicians, then maybe I will return to the fold. Excommunication of both Kerry and Pelosi would be an excellent start to show good faith,
Meanwhile, while I color their faces, I will use the hypocritical crayola....
