Fresh off primary victories in three states, presidential candidate Rick Santorum demonstrated his strong support for the individual right to keep and bear arms by visiting H&H Shooting Sports Complex in Oklahoma City en route to a rally today.
H&H is a NSSF Five Star member range owned by Miles and Jayne Hall.
The Santorum rally originally was scheduled to be held at H&H, but a surge of requests to attend the event forced a change to the Magnuson Hotel and Convention Center, where a crowd estimated at close to 2,000 gathered. The candidate delivered a speech that focused largely on energy, reported News On 6.
During his pre-rally visit at H&H, Santorum said, I wish we could have had it here, this would have been perfect.
He added, I am very impressed. It is easy to see why gun ownership is so strong here, and I stand tall with the Second Amendment.
Said Miles Hall, founder and president of H&H, It was a great honor to show a small but important part of the shooting industry to one of our presidential hopefuls.

PA is a very pro gun state. Rick always was very good on the issue as Senator.

Why did Santorum vote for anti gun education in schools? Voted for Federal funding for anti-gun education programs in schools.

It’s Rick’s turn to ride the shooting star.
I despise and distrust all politicians whose only relationship with guns is to use them as campaign props (ala John Kerry).

I think the Gun Owners of America (GOA) candidates' survey says a lot about the candidates in microcosm. The surveys are available online in .pdf format.
As you might expect, Santorum and Gingrich for the most part give the same replies, with one exception. Santorum is for the repeal of the '93 Brady Instant Check. Gingrich added a cryptic note on his survey indicating he would not repeal it, but modify it.

Both the NRA and GOA give Santorum better lifetime ratings than Gingrich. But don’t let the facts blind your hatred for Rick.

What is his preferred caliber for a carry piece?
Perry alternately carried a .380 or a 9mm. I carry a 10mm.
If Rick isn't 100% comfy with that idea... He needs to get there.

If guns have never been part of their daily life they likely really dont care much about gun issues. You don't have to shoot regularly or even own a gun to care about freedom and the Constitution.

Rick has declared that his favorite weapon is a Kimber .45.
I don't think he's ever said if he carries concealed, and frankly, I don't think that's something that should be public knowledge any more than whether you or I carry.

.40 should be the minimum carry caliber. .45 even better.

"So if Obama went out and bought a bunch of semi-autos,
he would be a pro gun POTUS?
Rick got a A+ rating from gun groups.....I like him.
Newt is too much of a careerist for my taste."
I'm not sure why this post was directed at me. Sounds like we agree. My first choice is Rick Santorum, but I could support Newt Gingrich.
