The Obama administration's new mandate that religious organizations pay for their workers' birth control has become a bludgeon for Republican culture warriors, as social issues have surged to the forefront in the presidential campaign.
Conservatives who believe religious freedom always trumps gender equity in the public arena are outraged. But so too are Roman Catholic and evangelical moderates who have stuck with President Barack Obama, an abortion rights supporter, because of his 2008 pledge to reduce the abortion rate and find common ground among religious and secular Americans. These backers say the administration could have easily avoided the controversy by including broader religious exemptions already in place at some federal agencies.

Gender equity is in the Constitution??? Who knew? I must be a knuckle-dragging Neanderthal conservative not to know that making everybody pay for fornication is “gender equity”-a liberals’ idea of a human right. IMHO, the REAL reason for this mandate is not to help women, but to help the sex trade force contraceptives down the throats of underage girls and sex slave prostitutes. Of course, forced abortion will be the next mandate. Then look for the sex trade to take off under Dictator Obama and Madame Sebelius.
I have not purchased birth control pills for over 37 years.
Then, a month’s supply was about $20.
Can anyone update me with the FULL price of a month’s supply in today’s market? Please don’t include any insurance, co-pays, etc. I wish to know the full price.
I am arguing with a couple of local Federal teat suckers about all the crap Barry the Imposter keeps providing them with & I want accurate ammunition.
Thanks very much.
It is obvious that Obamacare has to be repealed because of its impact on our freedom. The DemonRATs showed their cards too early and I hope it bites them in the ass (you know, the Donkey ass).
This administration is convinced that they have the Catholic vote in their pocket.
Must be nice to be so confident.
Of course, up until now, the Catholics have been supporting his edicts - why wouldn’t he think their votes belong to him?
Here’s hoping that there are enough Catholics of conscience to stand up against this attack.
Getting crowded under 'Bammy's bus . . . .
Hopefully, the price will be Obama's second term and, along with it, social justice
!
This is what those who voted for obama wanted so let them enjoy it.

Combination birth control pills contain a combination of estrogen and progestin, while the “mini pill” contains only progestin. Both are designed to prevent pregnancy; the “mini pill” is slightly less effective but is tolerated better by some women. The pill is one of the most popular methods of birth control, but is sometimes prescribed to help stabilize irregular menstrual cycles, to lessen menstrual cramps, to decrease the risk of anemia associated with heavy periods, and for other medical reasons.
Typical costs:
For patients not covered by health insurance, birth control pills typically cost $20 to $50 a month.
For patients covered by health insurance, out-of-pocket costs typically consist of a prescription drug copay. Most insurance plans offer the lowest copays on generic medication — usually $5 to $15 — and higher copays of $30 to $40 for non-preferred brands.
Birth control pills, the most commonly covered contraceptive, are covered by more than 80 percent of health insurance plans, according to the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals. And in some states, it’s mandatory; the Kaiser Family Foundation lists 33 states that require coverage of birth control.

“Conservatives who believe religious freedom always trumps gender equity in the public arena are outraged”
Where do I start with this statement? How about the ‘in the public arena’ clause. These are private insurance plans. In fact, there is a federal law against using public money for abortions (I assume the day after pill is included in this)....so this is really a backdoor way to force private individuals to pay for what the government monster can’t.
Question is, Doug, will you CONTINUE to be the President's useful idiot, as you were in the last election? I'm praying that many of the Catholics who voted for Obama, on your word that he would be good for this country, and for Catholics, will be loathe to follow you this time around.
Isn’t that the city where 25% of the population consist of illegal voters and other misreants named “Nicky the housekeeper?” California has been a socialist hole for some 30+ years, and is spiraling down the toilet quite quickly, it usually takes 75 years; look at the former US[S]R.
It’s not about gender equality, any more than gay marriage is about equality-it’s about the government wielding the power to destroy institutions that are at odds with the far left agenda. Climate cahnge, racial politics, class warfare are all pretexts for the ultimate and total subjagation of a free people. We need to quit calling them ‘liberals’ and call them what they are-FASCISTS.
Private charities and hospitals such as the Catholics run are actually the competition to the government. The government would love to be the only institution supporting people because this would foster total dependency and therefore total control. These moves are made to intentionally put non governmental charities out of business.
YUP. Nobody has pushed back against the Indonesian, despite him daily trampling the Constitution. Time for somebody to get their courage up. He’ll just keep pushing until somebody pushes back.
Obama wants to do away with the charitable deduction on personal income tax. It’s clear that he wants everyone dependent on the federal government, which is the ultimate goal of Obamacare.
This is about Total Control.
Obama is boasting, "I will traffick pills, plugs and rubbers --- and baby-toxic poisons -- to every woman and girl in America --AND I will make the Catholic Church pay for it."
Out of respect for our honorable non-Catholic brothers and sisters in Christ, let me add: he's talking about you, too.
It is intended as an arrogant display of power: a cold, cruel and deliberate act of aggression. It's rape.
If he could, he'd duct-tape our wrists together, yank our hair, slap our faces and call us filthy names while he's doing it.
If he wins again in November, that's exactly what he'll do.
He displays evidence of possession by a loathesome bodiless entity.
And also, he's a craven caitiff who's full of poppycock.
I often wonder why homosexuals are so concerned with contraception and abortion, since, in most cases, they don't engage in activities that could result in conception under any circumstances.
