(CNSNews.com) - White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Monday that American women “deserve” to have their employers buy them health insurance plans that cover sterlizations and all FDA-approved contraceptives, including those that cause abortions, with no fees or co-pay, even if the employer is a Catholic or Catholic organization that adheres to the church teaching that sterilization, artificial contraception and abortifacients are morally wrong and that Catholics cannot be involved in them.
“I understand that there have been objections and that some people disagree with us and we are going to work with institutions that have concerns here,” Carney told reporters. “But I think it’s important to note here that we believe these services are important and that American women deserve to have access to that kind of insurance coverage regardless of where they work.”
On Jan. 20, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius finalized a regulation, under the new health-care law, that requires all health-care plans in the United States to cover sterilizations and all FDA-approved contraceptives, including those that cause abortions. The regulation has an exceedingly narrow exemption for “religious” employers that would effectively cover only an actual parish church—but not a Catholic hospital, university, or charitable organization. Catholic individuals, Catholic business owners and Catholic insurers would be compelled by the mandate to act against the teachings of their church.

You speak from ignorance, as do so many regarding the Catholic Church. No other organization, whether Church or private organization, speaks out against abortion like the R.C.C. They stand strongly AGAINST homosexual "rights", such as "unions" and "marriages", as well. The Catholic Church is UNIVERSAL, (that's what Catholic means, Greek word for universal, "Katholicos"). The Church is world-wide, and has as its human leader the Pope. This means that when one or two liberal jerks wearing red Cardinal's hats, such as Cardinal Mahoney, wants something like "amnesty", he is NOT the Church. He is a Church leader, but only one among literally thousands of bishops and cardinals, and one voice among one billion Catholics. And remember, it is the friggin' MEDIA who puts out his words and lends power to them, and it is the MEDIA which SUPPRESSES the words of the CONSERVATIVE BISHOPS in the American Church, such as Bishop Bruskewitz. (No doubt you've never even heard of him, because all you know about the Church is what the media tells you). Liberal Bishops like Mahoney are, unfortunately, a bain to the Church, and there are indeed too many liberal Catholic bishops, and it is government persection like this that just might wake them up and set their minds straight.
Besides, the Bible being what it is, "love thy neighbor", and "whomever refuses food or drink to the hungry and thristy refuses ME"; and the fact that Jesus, Mary and Joseph were once refugees themselves, (for many years), just exactly how does an institution like the Catholic Church stand up and say: "Get the hell outta here you illegal scum"? Answer: they can't.
But no matter how much you may detest the R.C.C., or no matter how utterly ignorant of the Church you may be, the FACT REMAINS, the Roman Catholic Church is the loudest voice in America against the evils that plague us and are destroying us. Abortion, homosexual "rights", open pornography in Hollywood and TV, and "birth control", which has opened the gates to so much sin and personal destruction by kids using this measure so they can open their legs at any age they choose and not have to worry about what Obama himself called "the punishment", (the birth of a child). God's command was NOT "go forth and control the birth rate of the human race", it was the opposite: "Go forth and multiply, and fill the earth.
The Catholic Church, as far as I can tell, is the ONLY voice left in America that still stands strongly against sin and vice.
And I don't care about the assinine argument regarding the homosexual deviant priests who have abused children, they'll get their "just judgement" when their time comes. For neither do these perverts represent the teachings of the Catholic Church. They in fact represent the OPPOSITE of what the Church teaches.
I’d just advise praying directly to God our Heavenly Father instead of vain repetitions to others. He answers prayers in His own time. We are winning the hearts and minds of more and more people each year, and we are seeing more and more of these abortion mills closing down, and we are seeing fewer and fewer replacement abortionists as the older ones die off. We are seeing them shut down because of prayer and intervention, and some can’t make a financial go of it, and some are shut down because of multiple health code violations.

Only problem with that is, it's ILLEGAL for any Church to tell its parishoners whom to vote for. Geez, now it's the the fault of the Holy Roman Catholic Church, (of which only 6% of its one billion population live in the U.S.), that Obama got elected.
Anything else the Church is responsible for? I heard they were complicit in helping Hitler killing 6 million Jews. Only problem with that lie is that Pope Pius XII personally helped save 800,000 Jews from death, which prompted the Cheif Rabbi of Rome, Rabbi Zoli, to immediately convert to Catholicism at the war's end. And the Vatican was inundated with letters from Jewish leaders all over the world for saving so many Jews; people like Albert Einstein and Golda Meir, and many other prominent Jews sent the Pope such letters of thanks.
There's so many lies and ignorant rumors out there about the Catholic Church that it would be laughable if not so dangerous.
They had a "non-practicing Catholic" graduate student at Catholic University of America explaining why there shouldn't be any co-pays for birth control coverage--it would cost her $30 a month to buy it on her own. She seemed to be single (there was nothing to suggest otherwise)--so the Catholic University of America is supposed to pay so she can have sex with men she isn't married to without the risk of getting pregnant.

The church is weak, its been weaken not only by declining membership but recently by scandals. No doubt as evident in the protestant community a result of relaxed Church procedures. (Stricter Churches are healthier & larger bodies) Nonetheless the Catholic Church after many years of theses failings is has been weaken as an institution.

Calm yourself; I’m a Roman Catholic who believes my Church is the true Church of Christ (the larger Catholic Church, that is).
Priests are allowed to tell people that they jeopardize their souls if they vote for a pro-abortion candidate (they are accomplices to murder at that point). They are certainly allowed to speak forcefully on ISSUES (abortion, “gay marriage”, etc.); most chose not to.
And looking at the electoral map, yes, it is the fault of America’s Catholic hierarchy that Obama was elected (and that Gore and Kerry almost were). The murderers of children win the states with the high numbers of Catholics; what remains of Christianity in our country has been preserved by conservative Protestants.
They are indeed excommunicated, ipso facto, or "('latae sententiae'). see Canon 1398. I'd like to see it go public though. However, the purpose of excommunication isn't to shame a person publicly, it's to let them know their soul is in grave danger if they don't repent.
But things are so bad in these times we live in, that it wouldn't hurt at all if the local Bishop of one of these "Catholic" politicians who are pushing this law would go public and proclaim their excommunication for all the nation to see and hear. I do think those times are coming, and sooner rather than later.
That, of course, will create yet another uproar against the Catholic Church, so the Church cannot win in "persecution war". One might almost say She was born to be persecuted, as was Jesus. Christ Himself said: "If they persectue me, they will persecute you also". Personally, I wear the hatred and persecution of the Holy Roman Catholic Church as a badge of honor; because it assures me that I'm in the right Church. If Satan isn't persecuting a particular church through the media, or through mass ignorance, or through just plain old fashioned hatred, then what does that say about a 'church' if Satan is leaving it alone?
The Catholic Church hierarchy in the US has put up with Catholic political leaders’ anti-Catholic positions for 4 decades now. They are turning the ship around, but it’s slow going and a bigger job than had they stood their ground all those years ago.
IIRC, in ‘04 there was ONE Catholic priest who refused Communion to JFnK. Otherwise, he was good to go. When Nancy Pelosi was to be sworn in as Speaker she had a major show Mass in DC. When Ted Kennedy died, he had a Cardinal-led Catholic funeral Mass in a Basilica or Cathedral with dozens of other priests con-celebrating the Mass.. The leadership HAS to change, even more than it has in recent years.

There’s a voice that’s safe to ignore; she may never breed (given her interest in birth control, and many males’ interest in the same), and if she does it probably won’t be in any numbers worth paying any mind to. These are the remnants of the America that is dying; it is much more important to deal with those left afterwards.
I work with spinsters nearing retirement who are very down about the state of this country (the lack of English they hear spoken around them, the darker complexions they see around them, etc.); they prided themselves on being “independent”, and now they are irrelevant.
There’s a 3 in 5 chance Israel will attack Iran before November. That will really put the finish to Obama.
In the recent case of a religious teacher who decided she wasn't "religious" one article said:

Which is worse, depriving a church of selecting those who personify its beliefs or depriving a church of practicing its beliefs? It is a belief of the church that it should reach out as a "good samaritan" to help those in need of medical attention, AND it is a belief of the church that it is a duty to God to enforce its deeply held beliefs throughout its entire organization.
For Obama to continue pushing this is direct evidence that Obama opposes Catholicism. (If not all of orthodox Christianity).
I’m Catholic and to be quite honest, I could NEVER understand why any Catholic would vote for Obama. He showed himself to me when he spoke to Joe the Plumber. It all became clear at that moment. He seems to keep poking the bear and I do believe this is the line in the sand moment for Catholics that have finally woken up! If not, we surely are in trouble! 4 more years of this and we will not recover in my lifetime.

In fact it reminds me of some kind of commercial or ad that you see for some indulgent dessert ... It says “You DESERVE...” How do you know that it’s deserved? It’s deserved just by virtue of one’s existence?!
