Obama: I'm getting 'better as time goes on'
The Hill ^ | 2/6/12 | Justin Sink

During an interview that aired Monday on NBC's "Today" show, President Obama said that he gets "better as time goes on" at his job and that he believes the grassroots movement that propelled him to victory in 2008 will help him win a second term.

"What's frustrated people is that I've not been able to implement every aspect of what I said in 2008. Well, it turns out our Founders designed a system that makes it more difficult to bring about change than I would like sometimes. But what we have been able to do is move in the right direction," Obama said.

"And you know what? One of the things about being president is you get better as time goes on," he added.

The president defended his record, arguing that he has been successful despite his confrontations with Congress.

"We've been able to get a lot done. Not as fast as we want; sometimes it's messy; the process is frustrating," Obama said.

That’s good, in 500 years he might be a man.

But as for right now we don’t have that much time for the boy king to grow up.

“What’s strange is that no one has any anecdotes about him, even favorable ones. For someone in his position, you’d think at least one or two people would like to stand in his limelight by sharing stories from “back then”. This happens to everyone who becomes famous. Wth Hussein-nothing and no one. As if he just didn’t really exist in other people’s lives before he ran for the Presidency. It’s very curious.”

It’s not just curious; it’s deeply disturbing, or should be to anyone who spares a few brain cells to ponder it.

Better as time goes on, says the narcissist. Better at hating America. Better at implementing policies that weaken her. Better at blaming others (like The Founders) for his ignorance and failure. Better at lying, distorting and back-stabbing. Better at destroying all that is good about this great nation. Yeah, he’s getting better alright.

He is a much better actor these days...

I recently started watching ‘24’ on Netflix. It is the first time I have watched any of it. In terms of public persona, I am convinced obama studied the character of Palmer when learning how to act presidential. The similarity is creepy. Way beyond creepy.

No one can convince me otherwise.

I honestly never thought of that comparison before. We just got Netflix and were looking to watch the series again (we missed the last few years and were going to start back at the beginning...). Anyway, I wonder if I’ll even be able to stomach those scenes with Palmer - who I always really liked as a character.

Obama is a genius in his own mind - only. The folks in our world with half a brain who aren’t completely pre-occupied by miscellaneous unimportant things, or so completely emotionally invested in their political ideology and the “party” games that they are pathetically blind, can clearly see he has no clothes on.

Since I had never seen it before, I had no preconceived notions. My thinking was along the lines of “ they must have modeled candidate Palmer after Obama.”

When I remembered this was broadcast in 2001/2002, I realized it was the other way around. To think we have a president who modeled himself after a fictional television character is beyond creepy.

He can act like Palmer but he will never have the integrity of a fictional television character.

Let me know what you think, I'd be interested in your take.
