That's a great post and all true except for one thing. Floriduhhhhh---Romney bought the state. He will do it again unless Newt can counter with equal dough.

MItt needs to stop campaigning and go out and clone Sheldon Adelson 7 or 8 times or watch Floriduhhh repeated over and over. First in Texas.

It's not even that mittens has a message his ads are all lies. Tough to counter lies unless you have the ability to match spot for spot.

They can fight this battle with their marvelous ideas ... like ... um ... what are their ideas again? Oh yeah, they don’t have any.

It appears you get your information from the drive-by media.

Are you saying there is no merit to any of the legislation passed by the GOP Congress which went unreported by the RATagandists, and has been stuffed in the trash can over at the RAT-controlled Senate?

I have some questions about Twitter. I have my account and am following Newt2012HQ and newtgingrich. What’s the best way to get a message out to people? Do I go to my Home, write a Tweet in the box, and then type in the tag #withnewt at the end? Will this automatically show the tweet to my followers or only to people searching for that tag?

That’s great but I think Rick Santorum would have made the better Gilligan. He is Newt’s “junior partner” after all.

Problem is moutainwoman we here don't get it about the other 30% that actually elect a candidate. We live in a different world from the ill/non politically informed. They actually believe and are influenced by what they see on tv. Busy people doing everything that people do except get informed. they have only a fraction of the info/intel that we have.

Last week I had to explain to my 90 year old mother that everything she saw Tom Brokaw saying on his 30 second spots was a lie or distortion. It only took a few minutes to do but unless all the others that think like her are informed we lose.

We know what is going on. Those who elect presidents dont. It's the catch 22 of the system, you counter it with massive ad campaigns like Romney is doing, little else will work.

Romney has a better chance of beating Obama than the others.
If Obama is re-elected, the country as we know is history.

Absolutely incorrect. He is a single-issue candidate, that he can supposedly create jobs (despite being awfully good at killing them and shipping them overseas at Bain Capital). As the economy does better, the rationale for his candidacy disappears. He can’t run against Obamacare because he was for it when it was called Romneycare. He is clueless as to conservative thought and unable to articulate a conservative message and argument to the country at large the way that Newt can. He has made a series of gaffes confirming that he’s an out-of-touch mega-millionaire which can easily be used to create a series of negative ads in the economically hard-hit states.

Just saw that “Mitt” slip. Too funny. Even Kristol had a wry smile on his face. Wallace is so pushing the Mitt brand he slipped and showed his cards.

It is laughable for anyone to think Mitt has a better chance to beat Obama.

If Obama is re-elected, the country as we know is history.

LOL if Mitt is elected the country as we know it is history. It's only delayed a bit.

Obama is more honest than mitt in one regard: Obama would never lie and try and run as a Conservative.

Mitt is a loathsome candidate who will rightfully lose in a landslide. I would happily watch that fraud get destroyed.

Mitt's entire record is one of screwing Conservatives and pushing the liberal agenda.

The only certain way to lose to Obama is select Mitt.

I think by mid-March Mitt will be in total panic mode, moving towards being defeated by Newt. It will be fun to watch him and his vile supporters lose it.

If you had watched an interview he did on foreign policy the other day, you would realize that John Bolton has been tutoring him and he seemed quite knowledgeable.

Also, until the debt is pared down his skills ARE the most needed. That issues isn’t going away by magic.

I am not going to trash any of the candidates, because they all have their pluses and minuses. We are going to have to unify when we finally do have a candidate.

I think you guys forget that insulting Romney supporters isn’t going to get you lots of donations and support from that quarter for Newt (or Santorum) come the general.

Common Tator always said that politics is about winning converts. When you repeatedly club your opposition over the head, it will take longer to make them allies.

Each of us has an opinion on who or why we’ll vote. I disagree with you but that’s okay, you disagree with me.

I have principles I won’t violate by voting for someone but Romney isn’t one of them. I don’t like McCain either but he would not have been as bad as 0bama has been these past number of years.

Making Republicans more conservative is going to take years to accomplish because people don’t change their views overnight. That change has to come from within the party because outsiders carping about it won’t make them change. We have to build a stronger conservative base within the GOP to effect that change. In the mean time, I’ll vote for a RINO any day of the week over a Democrat. The party in power determines the agenda and direction we move as a country.

In this case, party does trump principle unless it’s something so horrendous that the voter can’t do it. That always seems to be over one issue: abortion, gun rights, racism, etc. Romney is not my first choice but he would be one heck of a lot better than 0bama and IF he’s elected he’ll do better than some people think he’ll do. I didn’t agree with numerous things GW Bush stood for but he was a lot better than Gore or Kerry would have been.

To repeat, sorry, but it took years for progressive Democrats to gain control of their party and it’s going to take years for conservatives to return control to the GOP. I’ll accept each baby step as we get there. We need a veto proof congress, a majority of Republicans in the US House and a super majority in the US Senate to really make the changes I would like to see. Until then, I’ll vote the party line when I have to.

And in the Senate trash they will sit because Romney doesn’t have a snowballs chance ... the media has a lock on the minds and opinions of the vast majority of voters.

The GOP candidate is going to have to break through the smog of lies and you may think Romney has that ability. But I don’t. He has the charisma of a door knob and a life that few Americans can relate to. It will be a piece of cake for the media. Obama and the dems won’t even have to spend a dime taking him on.

Mitt has no pluses. And no, I will not "unify" and vote for Mitt. I will not vote for the "equal of evils."

I am confident that the fraud that is Mitt will be on his way out by the end of March.

I hope and pray you’re wrong. Free Republic serves a valuable need for all of us and I would hate to lose it even though I realize JimRob is farther right than me.

But, I’m with you in Anyone but 0bama.

I’ve had the experience of working to keep libertarians and Ron Paul supporters within our party ranks once the nomination process is over; so I understand the difficulties involved. LOL
