In a new national radio ad released Wednesday, Rick Santorum lambasted Newt Gingrich over the former House speaker's declining poll numbers and second place finish in Florida's primary.
"Despite spending millions, Newt Gingrich went from a big lead to a big defeat. Why? Because voters discovered Gingrich wasn't a true conservative," the narrator says in the ad.

Huh? He looks like a goofy dweeb!
Thank you for saying that. It takes courage in this environment. I completely agree with you.
If that lie makes you comfy, hug it.
LOL...that's a Newt, "pathway to non-deportation" kind of answer. Again, "If Trig had Trisomy 18 would you have advocated as fervently against Sarah's run (for VP in '08) as you are against Rick's (POTUS in '12)?"
Once again, hypothetically, if Trig had Trisomy 18 instead of Downs and Sarah had ran for VP in '08, would you have objected as strenuously to her candidacy as you do to Rick's? That's a simple yes/no question. That means that without a "yes" or "no", it's not been answered. You can say, "I don't think she'd have run," as many times as you like, but the question will remain unanswered.
Considering what's at stake, I wonder about his moral compass. Simply put: Romney has done things in office that show he is depraved, craven, and wicked. Two things immediately come to mind.
The most major, the one that's gotten the most attention -- and rightly -- was the $50 taxpayer-subsidized abortion-on-demand included in his Massachusetts health care. Silent murder masquerading as a minor, inexpensive medical procedure sanctioned by the government and funded by force from taxpayers.
The other one has hardly gotten any play, but it is equally heinous: As governor, Romney issued a proclamation endorsing a "Gay Youth Pride" day at a middle school. Romney's idea of proper use of government, in public schools and from the Governor's office, was to use his title to condone and promote the embrace of open homosexuality and even self-declaration of "I'm gay and I'm proud!" among children, kids too young to even drive cars. Maybe it's just me, but sex, let alone a sexual perversion proscribed in the Bible, has no place being celebrated among children too young to understand the spiritual aspects of sex, let alone sexual perversion. That act of Romney's, my FRiends, was depraved. It was craven, wicked, and depraved. I REFUSE anytime, anywhere, to vote FOR a monster who would do such a thing to innocent children, and I RESENT THE HELL out of anyone who makes that politician more powerful.
Santorum knows very well that he is improving the chances for that depraved, wicked, craven politician Romney to win the nomination, and if that happens, millions of decent, God-fearing Americans will be put in a position where they'll feel like in order to vote "against" Obama, they will have to vote FOR a politician who has already advanced government means to foment such evil and depravity.
As an instrument to make such a Devil's bargain come to pass, Santorum's "moral compass" seems to me entirely broken. He had the nerve to admonish us to "vote your values." What "values," Rick? Yours?
The sad truth is that in a race between Romney and Obama, there is no "lesser" evil. Both are equally depraved.
You truly have a deficiency of some sort. NONE of her kids have a fatal disease and she didn't run in 2012 BECAUSE of her kids. You are building a strawman around NOTHING. SHE WOULDN'T HAVE RUN. They're healthy and she didn't run. Because of her kids. Too bad Santorum doesn't have that much character.
You have issues. So does Santorum. Goodnight.
Wait, didn’t Rick Santorum lose re-election for his own Senate seat by something like 18 points? And he claims he can win in Pennsylvania and the other industrial states... How exactly?
Since nobody has really attacked him on a national level, no one really knows whether he has baggage or not. Personally, I think Rick is a set-up for a steamroller. He's got as much "baggage" as human being. It just hasn't been unpacked -- yet.
Sorry — post #108 really should have been addressed to steelfish.
Someone else posted those remarks. I agree with your comments though.
She trashed Palin then she trashed Perry.
Hey Rick, that worked out so well for Bachmann, didn't it.
No Problem-I didn’t see your post to me.
Santorum needs to fade back into his SERP.
IMHO this is a very dumb move on Santorum’s part. I think that is will actually help Newt in the long run.
Wait until Trumps goes after HIM
I wonder what deal the Establishment has made with Santorum to get in and stay in to drain the votes away from Newt. Why is he going after Newt more than Mitt?
He's starting to show his hand.
You make a good point. Gingrich you must remember won on the force of his debates against the media who is the enemy of all conservatives with CNN in particular and of course with the support of the Evangelicals. Santorum was the only person of the current crop of candidates (Paul excepted) who voted against TARP and the bail-out and supported the Paul Ryan plan on Medicare which everyone knows is going broke. While it is easy to “demonize” Gingrich because of FannieMae and make him a target of SNL (colonize the moon), this won’t be a sail with Santorum because the overall public perceives him as a decent guy. His recent rush to take care of his sick daughter showed him as someone with the right priorities and got him loads of favorable press. For this and also the reasons stated in my earlier post, he is our Plan B and I think this may be the one that works for us. We have to go with what is both conservative and practical.

Spot on!
Santorum is big government - ergo, Establishment - ergo - dutifully filling the role of spoiler. (Wanna know a another way to tell Santorum is with the Establishment? The press has torn Calista from limb to limb - but nary a word on he real accomplishments - AND nary a word about SAntorum's wife's past..That story is just too good to pass up - were Santorum not in with them. (copy/paste or just GOOGLE 'Rick Santorum's wife abortion doctor")
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2087812/Rick-Santorums-wife-Karen-love-affair-abortion-doctor.html
Just maybe, Trump will point that out. Trump will be free to say whatever he wants - and he's one to do it too.p>Trump will be the attack dog. AND he knows how to get press.
BYW, pop your popcorn in brown paper sandwich bags in the microwave...then add real melted butter. Much tastier and cheaper - it's gonna get good with Trump in for us...and Chuck Norris. Whose gonna try beating on up on them guys?
>> Is Santorum going to do romneys dirty work for him now?
As are the Santorum voters.
The moral elites will deliver Romney.
You missed my point. Then again, I didn’t think I had to mention it.
We are $16 TRILLION DOLLARS in debt.
People like Santorum are part of the ongoing problem of business as usual in Washignton, D.C. Under a Republican president, they added over $3 trillion to the federal deficit, shunned conservative policy in favor of Beltway influence-peddling, and so damaged the GOP brand that we lost the majority Gingrich had worked years to forge.
Do you really think I give a damn that Newts fabulous colleagues think his reemergence would be a disaster for Republicans? No.
The elections of 2010 were NOT a merit promotion; the Republicans were the only alternative in town!
The reason they’re afraid of Newt is because they see the gravy train leaving the station, never to return.
Oh! And Rick Santorum went home to do his taxes; his daughter sickened while he was at home. He didn’t “rush home” to take care of Bella. Try the tear jerking ploy with someone who doesn’t know any better.
