Good news for two reasons. Trump isn’t going to be a spoiler running third party and second he is giving Milt the shaft. Nice.
Remember, Trump "promised" to "consider" running as a third party candidate if he wasn't satisfied with the GOP nominee. Since it is, unfortunately, looking more and more like that nominee will be Mittens then one could easily conclude that we are being set up for a Trump effort to support The One.
Or maybe not. Maybe he is going to start throwing money at Newt and we will have a real race for the GOP nomination.
If you read the statement, all it says is that Mr. Trump will be making an announcement regarding the Presidential race tomorrow.
NOWHERE does it say that Trump is endorsing Newt; for all we know, he could use his press conference to announce a third-party run, and Trump being Trump, I wouldn’t put it past him.

It would be good if Trump endorsed Gingrich AND threatened a third-party run if Romney got the RINO nomination.

Trump may planning to go 3rd party if mittens gets the nomination. I think a lot of people would vote for Donald if he campaigns from the right. One would think that this should force mittens to right as well. Such a race would be surreal with Mittens and Trump acusing each other of being on the Left.
I sure hope that Trump is serious in supporting newt, but I won’t be convinced until Donald gets out the checkbook in a serious way.

I’ve always felt Trump wanted to be King Maker more than Potus (couldn’t afford the cut in pay!) But I also figured he’d hold the threat of running as a 3rd party candidate over the RNCs head. Now, maybe he’s got a different strategery.
