AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and he’s not retiring until every American agrees with him, do NOT doubt him, with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (that’s Rush, for those in Rio Linda),the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back — just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, all-concerned Maha-Rushie! America’s anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A Real Man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander in Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. Leader of the Conservative Movement. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). He is the man who is running America (you know it and I know it). He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do—that’s host. Get ready to what you were born to do—that’s listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).

There is the assumption that conservatives will do as they have done before; acquiesce to the wishes of the establishment and mindlessly vote for the candidate with the "R" next to their name. I believe we are getting close to the point expressed by Tevye in "Fiddler on the Roof".

Tevye, "Fiddler on the Roof"
On the other hand, how can I turn my back on my faith, my people? If I try and bend that far, I'll break. On the other hand... No. There is no other hand.

um - evidently - nothing can be truth for you

if noot admitting it does not make it true, what does it take to make it truth?

you are trying to divert from a simple point

noot cheated - THAT is truth

spin it and justify it however you need to - but don't expect me to buy into the delusion

Everyone has different standards. I prefer my candidate not to have double and triple ones.

Were they cold, nagging bitches that made his married life a living hell?

Well, when FBI agents are asking you why your wife is meeting with arms dealers in Paris, you can start to suspect that maybe you don't have a perfect marriage.

Oops on the Alaska/Russia thing.

I don’t excuse Newt’s behavior. However, he has repented, asked for and received forgiveness. In my book, that settles it.

He also said that only Santorum has not doing anything not conservative. I consider supporting Specter, not conservative.

:-) I’m not voting for a church member; but my point is don’t justify bad behavior because he’s “the” guy.

He repents a lot. He repented on Scozzafava, on sitting on the couch with Nancy Pelosi, he repented on his anti-capitalism attacks. He refuses to admit, despite all the overwhelming video and written evidence of individual mandate support, and global warming support.

At some point you come to the conclusion the guy thinks he can do whatever as long as he says he is sorry. Some of these issues are too important for an “I’m sorry” after the fact.

If Santorum drops out...those votes would go for Newt.

I just had to jump in here because I keep seeing this repeated. Polling shows that second choices of Santorum voters split almost evenly between Romney and Gingrich. The idea seems to be that many in the Santorum camp do not see Gingrich as conservative, so they move to the "electable" Romney.

This makes sense in that Santorum was at the same level in the polls when Newt was at 40% as when Newt dropped below Romney.

oh i am more than sure i do

but i don’t lie to myself or others about it

i don’t rationalize it to myself and push that rationalization on others

and ask them to accept it

nor do i have a NEED for others to accept it

like some people

Between you and your deity. You aren’t asking me to trust you. Therein is the difference. If not past behavior, what should I stake my trust? His word? That has proven to be untrustworthy?

I don’t know when I have been more disappointed in anybody I looked up to. What a gutless decision when our Country is falling into the abyss. I would have respected choosing Romney more that this, why not pick Cain?

Pray for America

Well, those weren't sins but merely poor judgement. My support for Newt mainly is to stop Romney. I'm active in other groups working to encourage Sarah Palin to change her mind and run. I'm at war with the GOP establishment elites so defeating Romney is a biggie for me.
