What the hell is going on in Florida today? (Vanity)
January 31, 2012 | no dems

Posted on 01/31/2012 7:39:19 AM PST by no dems

Read a poll here on FR last night, Posted by another FReeper, and had a hard time sleeping. I woke up this morning with a couple of questions:

1. When 34% of the Tea Partiers polled are going for Romney, Paul or no one in FL today, what the hell is going on?

2. When many Evangelicals are voting for a Marxist Mormon today in FL, what the hell is going on?

I'm to the point that I've decided that most voters in America are stupid and this nation deserves what it will get with four more years of Barack Hussein Obama in the White House. So, let the good times roll, mama. To hell with all of them.

What the hell is going on in Florida today?

Yes, there is a big generational thing going on here (having nothing to do with the actual age of the candidate). I talk to young conservative voters in the 18-39 year old generation all the time, and they tell me the same thing. Surprisingly to me, the one they can’t stand, without exception, is the youngest candidate, Santorum!

I have no idea why for sure, can’t speak for people I don’t know. I’m just going on my observations from those people I know, and people I know, just don’t like Newt. Whatever their reasoning, ii’s their business. No one here in Virginia can vote for him anyway.

I hope you realized how stupid the voters can be at least dating back the Clinton elections.

The “party” and “the people” are no longer the same thing. They’ll be finding this out the hard way in November when significant numbers of “we the people” refuse to hold their noses & vote for Romney.

You want to see what's going on? Just review the threads on this forum for the past 6 months. The hate, the vitriol, the sheer nastiness, from so-called conservatives toward conservative candidates, clearly is a microcosm of the country. Reflects the attitude of the so-called conservative electorate quite accurately.

Combine that with cross-over dems, fraud, and whatever other shenanigans...and it is clear who the winner will be today.

Also, bear in mind physical appearance.

Romney looks to be in good physical condition: he’s relatively slim, looks good for his age, dresses sharply, has that nice full head of hair with the greying at the temples, then contrast that to Gingrich....pudgy, out of shape, full head of hair (though grey), etc.

Look back at the contest between Obama and McCain in 2008; I knew Obama would win simply on the basis of his appearance.

Call us a youth-obsessed society or what have you, but appearances do matter in elections. It’s an unavoidable fact of life, starting with the Kennedy-Nixon era (I know, JFK may have cheated his way into the Oval Office, and his seemingly robust appearance masked the fact that he suffered from Addison’s Disease as well as other rumored maladies). The more attractive candidate generally wins.

Never thought as a loyal long time member of FR who has never voted D for president that I would be called stupid for supporting one GOP primary candidate over another.

Please consider this perspective. The Democratic Party you once knew is now highjacked by hard left Marxist. The Republican Party you now identify with is your old Democratic Party. True conservatives only have the Tea Party, which is unfortunately not on the ballot anywhere.

Could voter fraud play into this?

True conservatives only have the Tea Party

A lot of Tea Party people simply signed up because they were Taxed Enough Already and that was and is the main issue for them.

I agree. 2 years ago, I didn’t believe Obama had a chance in hell of getting re-elected.

Romney does not have a chance in defeating Obama. Democrats are going to use him to push EVERY stereotype they have pushed on the Republican party. To name just a few:

1. Racist: the mormon church didn’t allow blacks until 1978. IOW, Romney was a member of a racist cult. He was 30 years old before the LDS church let blacks in. He did not do a thing to stop this racism.

2. Super wealthy: speaks for itself.

3. Corrupt: watch the Blood Money video. Romney defrauded taxpayers to pad his own pockets.

4. Heartless: Bain corrupt takeovers resulting in people losing their jobs while Romney got rich.

In addition, Romneycare is the precursor to Obamacare which makes that issue moot, and that will kill voter turnout on the right—the same people who brought the landslide in 2010. The Obama team will run ads exposing Romney on gay marriage and abortion resulting in social conservatives staying home.

The question is not will Obama beat Romney, but how bad. I just wonder how many down ticket races will be lost as a result of putting Romney at the top of the GOP ticket.

It seems that the boring, milquetoast "electable" candidates never win.

But why? Is it really because they fail to distinguish themselves from the Democrat and don't excite the base? Or, is it simply because when "electability" is a concern, it's when we're running against an incumbent who has a good chance of winning no matter who is the GOP nominee? As I observe, it might actually be the latter.

If 34% of the Tea Party goes for Romney, it’s only because they are ignorant and gullible, like the rest of humanity. They are trusting, praying and hoping for the best as they jump off the cliff.

She’s dreaming! If Remulak gets the nomination there are enough angry conservatives who will go to polls, vote the undercard and write in somebody else (Newt) for POTUS. It would be enough that Myth would lose the presidency but the GOP adds seats to the legislature that are hostile to OFudgePackula. It would the ulitimate slap in the face to the Establishment. I recommend this strategy because it still saves the country

No it doesn’t. the republicans in congress have no balls and he still gets to appoint supreme court justices!!!
