FORT LAUDERDALE Tania Ouaknine is convinced the police are watching her.
She's not paranoid it says as much on the red sign painted along the side on the hulking armored truck that's been parked in front of her eight-room Parisian Motel for several days.
"Warning: You are under video surveillance," reads the bold message on the side of the truck.
From the front bumper of the menacing vehicle, another sign taunts: "Whatcha gonna do when we come for you?"

Further proof that the great one Mark Levin is right. We are living in a post Constitutional America.

The cops here in Lafayette, LA started rolling one of these out into "high crime" neighborhoods about 1-2 years ago.
The local rag ran a piece about how wonderful it was and interviewed a local resident who said she was "afraid to walk out to her mailbox."
In the "comments" section somebody cited that line saying they were afraid to walk out to their mailbox too, because they were expecting their city/parish tax bill any day :-)

Ain’t that about the truth!

I suppose they could send cops down to watch in person. That is what this carmored ar, er armored car seems to be an attempt to provide a cheap substitute for. They’re watching nothing more than such cops would be able to watch, or what a Google van might be able to see. If it were loaded with “super sensitive” spy equipment, USSC decisions would knock down anything that sprung from what that equipment saw.
Downside, maybe, is that it looks like an easy target. If some hijab-clothed figure came waltzing down the street and set dynamite and blasting caps under the darn thing, wonder if real cops would come quickly enough to prevent it from being demolished.

Now if people come out and surround the van with a carnival or something. I’d be out making a distraction every day.

They need to get a better public image. Instead of naming it a mobile surveillance vehicle...
...they should do like they did in Peoria and St. Louis and name it something else.
Once outfitted with surveillance gear, the truck will deter narcotics activity and deliver live-streaming video evidence to Capt. Joseph Speiss about nuisance properties being used by local drug dealers.

We need some masked men and women to start streaking and mooning these video trucks. It would make the point that such videos were not suitable for watching. It’s a community type of standard—the American Constitution standards.

The Fire Chief in Washington DC forces his Firefighters to go out with the apparatus and watch the neighborhood when they aren’t fighting fire.
Most stupid thing I ever heard of.

I had no idea that this was so far spread. I can’t believe it. And I rarely say that.

"Whatcha gonna do when we come for you?" One of these days, cops are going to get a surprising answer to that question. They won't like it.
