The establishment is fighting back, alright.
This has not received a lot of national attention, but the Republican legislature in Florida is about to push through a plan which puts Allen West at serious risk, and the person leading the effort is one of Mitt Romneys spokemen. As reported by The Shark Tank:

I feel like my Irish heritage in the days of “Irish need not apply” when I think of myself as a Conservative in the Republican Party anymore.
“Conservatives need not apply”.

Big Daddy George Romney started grooming young Willie Mitty for the nomination decades ago when he was just a boy...
George hated Ronald Reagan and the Conservatives and he taught Willie to hate us too...

A lot of people have clearly forgotten their great hero Allen West has betrayed us.
He supported the RINO compromise with 0bama on the debt ceiling and we out and was arrogant about it and still shows no remorse.
Allen West is no big loss. Just another RINO. With RINO’s, who needs democRATS?

I kept asking myself, Where was THIS McCain in 2008??? You are talking about two very different types of campaigns, primary and general elections, and equating them.
The things that motivate conservatives to vote for a candidate, do not work on moderate and liberal voters. Attacking Obama would have motivated conservatives to vote for McCain, but would also motivate liberals to vote for Obama, and turn off moderate voters. Candidates need over 50% of the vote to win. A winning Republican tries to get most of the conservative vote and most of the moderate vote, while suppressing the liberal vote...that is why smart politicians use a proxy to attack their opponent in a general election.
In a primary, both candidates are going after the same conservative voters...so pointing out that JD was a hypocritical, big government spending, entitlement pushing infomercial salesman, that couldn't win reelection in his tiny little congressional district, didn't hurt McCain with conservative voters.

In the 1850s, the Republican Party was created in the state of Wisconsin because the Whig Party did not represent the view of the people. Abraham Lincoln was a Whig candidate, up until that time when he became the first candidate under the Republican banner.
Is it now time to replace the Republican Party....the Party who is at war with We The People?

The legislatures authority to directly draw lines was taken away and given to
a bipartisan commission...we know how that goes...
what a "boneheaded" idea, whom ever thought of that idea.
Should have been horse-whipped out of town.

In the 1850s, the Republican Party was created in the state of Wisconsin because the Whig Party did not represent the view of the people. Abraham Lincoln was a Whig candidate, up until that time when he became the first candidate under the Republican banner. Not accurate - Lincoln was the Second GOP Presidential candidate.
Still no one commenting on the fact this was caused by Amendment 6 and this was all but certain to happen if Amendment 6 passed and did not get overturned. It seems we are increasingly starting to be making emotion-based arguments rather than fact based arguments...a trait normally found by those on the other side of the spectrum. The Democrats are getting a double victory on this one - the amendment getting passed to begin with to get rid of West, and now people blaming it on the GOP legislature.

Newt had been talking about making West his veep. That would be poetic revenge on the Mittster.

Attacking Obama would have motivated conservatives to vote for McCain, but would also motivate liberals to vote for Obama, and turn off moderate voters. If I were in McCain's place, I definitely would have ran that risk. I would have defined myself starkly against Obama made people chose. I damn sure wouldn't have suspended my campaign to fill the treasury with more IOUs made in the name of the American people.

This is not a good development. Florida conservatives need to contact their state legislators to put a stop to it. Allen West is a rising star in our party.

But they don't touch the black majority district that runs from Jacksonville Florida southwest to Levy county on the west coast, because if would dissolve a black majority district for a liberal Democrat. Talk about idiotic.
