Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum canceled his Sunday morning campaign events and planned to spend time with his hospitalized daughter.
Rick and his wife Karen are admitting their daughter Bella to Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia this evening, spokesman Hogan Gidley said in a statement Saturday night, adding Rick intends to return to Florida and resume the campaign schedule as soon as is possible.

Prayers up for sweet little Bella and the whole Santorum family. May God send His angels at this time to envelope them in love and protection.
Evil forces are at work against Santorum. Saint Michael the Archangel, be with him today and always.
What a beautiful profession of the prolife spirit!
It’s pretty ironic when David Axelrod has good words for Santorum and his family while many, many FReepers do not.
There is something very, very wrong here.
Not very Christian of you.
Prayers for Bella, the Santorum family, and all those who honor and respect life, especially the lives of children.
I know that Nella Hampton has probably saved hundreds of lives in her two years. Imagine what a little special needs child in the White House could do!!
Other than, sadly, the inner city community, the most growing %age of unborn murders take place upon kids who are diagnosed with differences in the womb. The doctors act as excited executioners, encouraging getting rid of babies with everything from Down Syndrome to cleft palate. People sharing their lives with their special kids show how much meaning, joy, and just downright real life there is with these precious kids. It takes some to save some. These happy little kids like Bella Santorum and Nella Hampton, above, can save a lot of people!
Go, Rick! May Bella receive her divine healing and may you stay IN the race for all the right reasons, and there are MANY. We need you.
Just beautiful the photo Sarah posted as well as the words she said. Dang, I’m going to mess up my mascara again.
Oh, and if the Santorums happen to go to Sarah’s page, there are a zillion prayer messages for THEM there, too. Wow.
Thanks for posting those updates. Pneumonia can be awfully serious in a system that is already compromised, as is Bella’s. Rick made the right choice to go to her.
Prayers continue; may God grant her a speedy recovery.
Prayers for beautiful Bella. She looks just like Daddy.
Prayers for beautiful Bella. She looks just like Daddy.
Rick said Bella is getting better and had a miraculous turnaround which is not surprising when folks from around the country are praying!
It's what you can expect from the left after the garbage they said about Sarah Palin and Trigg, they have no shame. I like him. And I am happy that neither he nor his wife listened to their Dr's when she was born.
Amen.
No matter who we support in the current campaign, Santorum and his daughter deserve our prayers.
Particularly for those of us who support the pro-life movement, we need to remember that there are direct personal consequences to choosing life and not aborting a child with a genetic defect. Being pro-life isn't just theory for parents like Rick Santorum or Sarah Palin.
In fairness, this was announced late Saturday and I think many people didn't see this until Monday morning.
Regarding Axelrod, we do need to remember that our political opponents are people, too, and many of them still have feelings. Not everything done by a Democrat or a liberal RINO Republican comes out of careful political calculations. I don't trust the liberals not to make up crocodile tears, but I also give them the benefit of the doubt in times like this.
...Not to be outdone by the irony of those who accuse Rick of wanting to tell people how to live their lives, telling Rick (and his family) how best to live theirs.
Maybe they are afraid of giving him sympathy votes.
