Many other changes included in these sweeping regulations. Please click to read. It's just wrong that regulators, not the politicians we elect, have the power to turn our lives upside down in such a major way.

How the hell can something like this even be enforced? The regulators might as well try to overrule the law of gravity.

We should start putting liens on the personal property of all these “regulators” for damages and make them share in the pain.

Why didn’t they pass a law that all cars must fly low by 2025? I mean since we’re passing laws about how things must be in the future.

I’m jus’ sayin’.

I don’t understand Californians. I visit the LA area once or twice per year and the freeways are packed with SUV’s and large european luxury cars. Nobody seems to be worried about fuel ueage. Why do they tolerate these regulations?

In 2025, those running that joint will look back at the clowns that passed this and shout, “Bite me!”.

Don't give them any ideas.

This is going to fail.
Why?
California’s economy, as a percentage of worldwide auto sales, is going to shrink substantially in the next decade. To the point it will be selling less cars than any two coastal Chinese provinces. On top of that, the cars in California will be the most expensive in the world for base models, but with a working class population with some of the lowest after tax take home income in the world.

The “West” has reached peak car use, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peak_car
the “East” will be the deciding force behind technology mandates in low end cars of the future.

Was home-ported in Long Beach for parts of 1966 and 1967. Bought a CALIFORNIA-BUILT '67 Chevy II. By law, since it was built and sold there, it had the "smog device" installed on the engine.

Must have really worked well, as there is no fog in L.A., now.

s/off

Also, the UN through a program called WP29 is supposed to set auto harmonization standards going forward. If California exceeds the standards it’s unlikely manufacturers will bow to California’s whims.

The only reason it exists' now is to keep the Pacific Ocean from getting Arizona wet.

So when Sheriff Joe in Arizona started deporting illegals, the Feds came in screaming that the Sheriff was stepping on Federal toes.

Now CARB is stepping on the Feds toes and not a peep.

Yup...These unelected officials now control our country. A socialist president can put in place radical leftist activists in every department, and then they can arbitrarily create whatever law they wish. No need for a legislature. They don’t even have a say anymore.
