Does the thought of Mitt Romney, a devout Mormon and Mormon leader, becoming President scare you? After reading this testimonial of an ex-Mormon ((http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/richard_packham/why.html)), I am scared of Mitt Romney becoming President. Remember when Barack Obama was seeking the nomination in 2008, his 20 year attendance at Jerimiah Wright's church where radical preaching took place was glossed over by the American public and the press. I say we do not make the same mistake with Mitt Romney and his leadership role in the Mormon Church. In the GOP nominating process, let's explore Mitt's Mormon beliefs. Am I totally off base? Please read the link on the ex-Mormon above!
Sure - check it out from the source:

Valid comparisons. And what about the strategy shown in the Utah War “Rather than engaging the enemy directly, Mormon strategy was one of hindering and weakening them)” and the PACT OF UMAR (http://peacebyjesus.witnesstoday.org/PactOfUmar.html)
Whenever mortals presume supremacy over the God-established Scriptures then both the souls as well as the bodies of just men are in danger.

That is a very odd defense for a very intense cult who's memebers are famous for being devoted to, and which REQUIRES that 10% of your income is transferred to them, that has meant 10s of millions of dollars for Bishop Mitt, who by the way, had the authority to require tax returns of cult members.
That concealed, uncomfortable looking, magic underwear also seems like a strange thing to participate in for people who don't really believe in their religion anyway.
An eye for an eye? Jesus taught that?
Most definately I’d have grain in my hand, I know goats well...Actually taught one to shake hands like a dog using grain. But when he got bigger, he’d have no part of shaking hands, just give him the grain or get a dirty look...:O)
I am a total Newt supporter, but to somehow link Romney’s debate perfromance to his Mormon faith is, as best, exceptionally foolish.
Then there is this:
JOSEPH SMITH’S “WHITE HORSE” PROPHECY..
LDS attachment to the Constitution has been further encouraged by an important oral tradition deriving from a statement attributed to Joseph Smith, according to which the Constitution would “hang by a thread” and be rescued, if at all, only with the help of the Saints. Church President John Taylor seemed to go further when he prophesied,
“When the people shall have torn to shreds the Constitution of the United States the Elders of Israel will be found holding it up to the nations of the earth and proclaiming liberty and equal rights to all men” (JD 21:8). To defend the principles of the Constitution under circumstances where the “iniquity,” or moral decay, of the people has torn it to shreds might well require wisdom at least equal to that of the men raised up to found it. In particular, it would require great insight into the relationship between freedom and virtue in a political embodiment of moral agency. (Encyclopedia of Mormonism, Vol.1, 1992)

But do let me know when Mittens jumps up and down on a couch.
Well then, you discredit Joseph Smith, who said he was the new Mohammad, walter Martin who wrote “Kingdom of the cults”, Dave Hunt and Ed Decker, who wrote “The God Makers, Tricia Erickson who wrote “Can Mitt Romney Serve Two Masters?”, and not to0 forget, Google. You will notice that I did not write any of them.
Now how do you substantiate your opinion?
Father, forgive him, for he knows not what he says.
Be careful what you wish for!
Look what we found in the cushions!!
Father, rebuke him, for he knows EXACTLY what he says.
No he's not and can't be made a case for. The anti-Christ does not come out of the USA. You need to not only read the article, but read your Bible and a little less of those prophecy sites telling you what to think...
The one world religion has yet to come together and the stage is not ready yet, though we see motions of coming together. Furthermore we are told to look for Christ's coming...not the Anti-Christ. Though we are aware there are many anti-Christ individuals thru the centuries.
Romney hides behind an institution which calls itself a religion...same tactics as Scientology of baiting and switching it's targets etc. and other cults and false religions who have a political agenda often hidden behind the scenes.
I expected the media and the democrats to bring up religion, but not conservatives.
Where we differ is that I think it is both better human relations with those who will react to a PC fuss over "anti-Mormon bigotry on FR" even when stirred up by the same people who plan to use that bigotry as a weapon if Romney is the nominee, and it is more relevant when choosing a candidate to look at actions and values. Romney is unacceptable those, so we agree on the point that is important in this election.
IT's generally not a good idea to be ignorant of or ignore what a candidates religion is when it dimetrically opposes the God our country was founded on. They did the same thing with Obama and look what we got!
Romney's "Position" within his religion very much has to do with this country and how he will handle this Presidency if he wins. He's a liar so you won't get straight answers from him on what he believes....but I assure you it isn't anything it's promoted as.
People do need to consider this "cult" and it's political agenda for this country, because Romney is the front man to make it happen for those higher in their heirarchy who are pulling his strings.
You wouldn' t know it if they did dingbat. Do some homework and be informed instead of just putting an opinion out there. Everything LDS does is in secret...why do you think they call them "secret societies"....LDS covers itself with a religious shroud just as most do..
Foolish imbeciles who haven't a clue how religion has played a political role throughout History and that worldwide...and people died because of it! Americans are soooo dumb downed in the area of religion and what it is.
Nope. Romney being a Mormon doesn’t scare me. It’s all the other stuff.
