Who could have predicted that supporting Islamists last spring would have consequences for America?
Lesson well learned from Carter's policy on Iran.

Wait—what sort of organizations? Open Society Institute?

I can’t really get worked up about it - the son of a American elite-ruling class doing a bit of feel-good, global community organizing, suddenly finds out that the CRAP that his own side has been peddling about peaceful Muslims yearning for democracy isn’t exactly the true.
We all have to confront reality at some point in our lives.

Only a few short months ago the leftist news media & leftwing politicians and pundits were crowing about the "arab spring".
Never once do they reconsider their policies or the possibility they may not know what the hell they're doing. They just continue on their merry way, spreading death misery & suffering in their wake.

I wonder how long it will take before those running America begin to realize that those running Egypt do not give a good damn what we want.

Who is detaining them?
If it is the military then the Americans played a role in the protests against the military - community organizers.
If detained by the civilian government the Islamists then they are talking too much and maybe violating Sharia law in some way.

I am sure a strongly worded letter will be sent, after it is reviewed to remove any language that could offend Muslim sensibilities.

Sure hope the Egyptian Embassy in Wash. DC does not have a fire or something. It is about time these sand monkeys get a kick in the teeth from Uncle Sam.

You’re in for a surprise.
The new Uncle Sam is no longer looking out for America.

Wonder if the State Dept. will designate Egypt as a highly dangerous and/or do not visit site for Americans. Egypt's tourist business is already rightfully in the toilet, but Egypt is not Tunisia or Libya or even Lebanon, where tourism is a mediocre source of dollars. In Egypt, world tourism is in the top two or three depending upon how it is counted.
With a population of 70+ million, there will be many going hungry very quickly. With all his faults, the average Egyptian lived better under Mubarek and predecessors than most in the Middle East save Israelis, so we'll see what comes next out of the Arab Spring.

If you set foot in a muslim country and you are not in uniform, fully armed and backed by the entire US military you have to accept responsibility for yourself as far as I am concerned..............
