I couldn't articulate it without sounding like a lunatic, and I'm not sure even Newt could avoid sounding paranoid and crazy, but it sure would be interesting if, during the debate, Newt came out and said:

"Do you all see what is happening? Everyone who threatens Romney as the GOP nominee is suddenly attacked and destroyed. Do you see how many stories came out this week against me? And why? Where are the stories about Mitt? About Obama? They aren't there. But any Republican who threatens the establishment -- Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann, Herman Cain, Rick Perry, now me -- as we rise up, powerful forces appear and slap us down. Do you people understand how lost our country is? This society is controlled by the powerful, and they don't care about We The People. Do you see how far we've drifted? Your vote barely counts. After 2012, it may not count at all. But you can still stop this. It's not completely too late."

And then announce Sarah Palin as his VP.
