Yes, it’s really strange. What’s up with that?

I kinda stopped going to Drudge a while back for some reason but today, it was like a total nuclear attack.

He and Ann Coulter really hate Newt. Don’t know why.

Does anyone?

Suddenly Rush Limbaugh and Drudge seem to be reveling in getting in the face of conservatives, they are mocking conservatives for some reason.

Romney is a destroyer, and we are seeing it now as he is destroying conservatism and the GOP.

Isn't Drudge just a link to the top stories of the day? I know he selects them, but every newspaper etc. has these stories.

Don't you think that all this is overkill? I truly think people are tired of all these attacks.

Actually, and I may be strange here, but the more he is attacked the more I know he must be the strongest candidate. They didn't attack Romney, the only other person they've attacked with such vitriol is Sarah Palin...and it was because they feared her. They have a terrible fear of Newt, I don't pretend to know why, maybe he has a lot of scores to settle...it is the DC way you know.

I never read Drudge because of all of the viruses, malware, and pop-ups that happen when you click on his links.

FR is my #1 source of news because it’s ALWAYS safe here.

I haven’t been to Drudge today, and haven’t missed it. My trips there are mostly a matter of habit, and they are short. FR offers so much more.

This whole attack Newt thing is not sitting well with me. I feel like if everyone in the old GOP is against Newt, I should be supporting him. I do want someone to BRING IT to the statists.

Why oh why can’t I get behind Newt, though? I really want to. The enemy of my enemies is my friend, right? But I am still scared of Newt as Pres. I know he could whip Obama’s tush. After that, I wince at Newt at the head of our government...

That’s ok, just add Drudge to the list of traitors in our midst who have exposed themselves.

They have profited from us, while secretly holding us in contempt.

A good way to make a stink about Drudge’s obvious bias would be to call into Bill Cunningham’s radio show on Sunday night, which was formerly Drudge’s show.

This is like ping-pong on steroids; whose turn is it to manipulate the daily headlines? The sad fact is that out of all the ashes walks a victorious Obama, while the remnants of the Republicans wander around muttering to themselves about their exhalted status.....

“Conservatives can trust about nobody in media today and this proves exactly why.”

You are spot on, “conservatives” really have know where to go. Even though every survey shows we are in the majority, we are universally HATED by the left/Democrats, the MSM, the RINO’s, the Republican party (as a whole) and now even the so-called “alternative ‘conservative’ media”. This is why I left the Republican party a couple of years ago. I refused to be treated by the Republican party the way that the Democrats treat blacks . . .assume they will tow the line because they have nowhere to go.

Funny, in the last election, I held my nose and voted for McCain. I still think he is an honorable man, but is no conservative and would have done zero to advance conservative principals. I would hear some people call in to talk radio and say, “I will not vote for McCain even though I am a conservative. . .”. I couldn’t understand those folks! How could they NOT vote! How could they let such a buffoon take the helm of the greatest country on earth?! Sadly, I now get it. Everyone hits their own personal wall at different times/stages. I have finally hit mine. If Mitt’s in, I’m out. Also, I’m done being a sap for the “so-called conservative media”. I no longer go on Drudge (even though I almost used to ‘live’ on the site). No longer watch Fox News at night. And now minimize talk radio to pretty much just Rush (still some sanity coming from him). And of course, still sticking with Free Republic. If Obama gets re-elected, so be it - I’m done. The Republican party doesn’t give a flying FOXTROT about me as a conservative and now, after many years, the feeling is mutual.

Newt must be dangerous to the status quo to get this tsunami of criticism a few days before the FL primary. You’d think he was a foreign-born crack-smoking radical marxist from the the temper of the criticism. Hmmmm. . Why is Newt so dangerous? Didn’t he push through the Contract for America? The last time successful reform was done? I used to be a teacher. Did you know that good professors play devil’s advocate and present all sides of n issue? It’s a shame that like Disraeli, Churchill, Ike, Thomas Jefferson, Lincoln, etc. that Newt isn’t perfect.

Consider this. It's pretty clear that Drudge is not the most "manly" guy in the room. Also, consider that his pal Ann Coulter is buddy-buddy with the GOProud crowd.

I'm betting they both know that Romney is extremely "gay-friendly" while Newt is not.

Does that explain this trend clearly enough?
