"Given all the attention to the ethics matter, it's worth asking what actually happened back in 1995, 1996, and 1997. The Gingrich case was extraordinarily complex, intensely partisan, and driven in no small way by a personal vendetta on the part of one of Gingrich's former political opponents. It received saturation coverage in the press; a database search of major media outlets revealed more than 10,000 references to Gingrich's ethics problems during the six months leading to his reprimand. It ended with a special counsel hired by the House Ethics Committee holding Gingrich to an astonishingly strict standard of behavior, after which Gingrich in essence pled guilty to two minor offenses. Afterwards, the case was referred to the Internal Revenue Service, which conducted an exhaustive investigation into the matter. And then, after it was all over and Gingrich was out of office, the IRS concluded that Gingrich did nothing wrong. After all the struggle, Gingrich was exonerated...."

Gingrich sent his course lectures through the mail to radio stations that agreed to listen to and possibly broadcast them. The tapes weren’t the greatest quality, but the content was fascinating, and all about history. I worked for a radio station that took a set.
That the libs and press could make that into a scandal shows you their hideous power.

Could not sleep last night. Sent a couple of emails to Hannity and O’reilly asking them why they were in the tank for Romney when the truth was out there as exhibited by this link.
This is what came to me.
Ask all freepers (post it on each stateboard and in activism) to help get the truth out NEWTBOMB4TRUTH.
1.They should email link of Yorks article to themselves then forward it to everyone on their email list and ask them to do the same.
2. If on facebook link the article by York to their home page and ask friends to do the same. Truth be told
3. Contact anyone they know IN FLORIDA AND BEYOND! with Vendome presentation adding their own comments by any method.
4. Anyone with a media list or contact information for office holders please share so they too can experience a NEWTONBOMB from FR.
We need this in activism Jim.....and someone needs to contact our Sarah and makes sure she twits or sends out messages bringing attention to the truth as presented in this article.

I remember well when they decided to get Newt. At the time I thought the whole thing was bogus and the $300,000 fine was outrageous.
Mark Levin has a great article about Newts ethics investigation. He wrote about it in the early 90’s. And remembers it very well. It sickens me how the Republicans went after Newt also during the time. I cannot link to Levins article from my phone, but it should be easy to find. Well worth the read.

Now if Byron could write a similar article on "Newt Gingrich resigned is disgrace" as Romney puts it (which really burns me up). I have a feeling there's alot more there than he hear about.
