Newt Gingrich's decision today to bash Mitt Romney for hiring former Charlie Crist loyalists and employees doesn't seem to be sitting well with Sen. Marco Rubio, who drove Crist out of the Republican Party before beating him at the polls in 2010.
Said Rubio: "Mitt Romney is no Charlie Crist. Romney is a conservative. and he was one of the first national Republican leaders to endorse me. He came to Florida, campaigned hard for me, and made a real difference in my race."
Marco Rinio
Rubio is speaking up for romney, the way Sarah did for McCain, because they believed in a newcomer when it wasn’t easy... it’s nice. and I don’t think it means alot, at least I hope not.
You've obviously mistaken this place for ModerateRepublic.com.
FR doesn't support the go-along-get-along status quo who've gotten this country into the bedraggled state it's in. You want to support that sort of 'reach across the aisle to our friends' mindset, you best find one of those politically neutral websites to do so.
Rubio just showed his true colors, and has now broken faith with the patriotic right who put him in the Senate. Bad move, and he will pay for it.
Good insight. I wonder if Rubio is having similar thoughts as what Palin must have had after repaying McCain.
I challenge you to name even ONE Tea Party candidate who Mitt endorsed first.
Those of us with clear memories of the 2010 midterm elections well recall that Mitt Romney followed the lead of outspoken conservatives time after time with his endorsements.
He scratched my back, so I’ll scratch his. A worthless endorsement.
Good thing he graduated to DC, DISNEYLAND FOR BUSYBODIES, before he could participate in taking more of my personal freedom away.
Don't worry Marco, once we finish driving a stake through FLIP MYTH SLICK WILLARDS heart, we will be keeping eyes on you , yes indeed.
I've been called a lot of filthy, disgusting, putrid names in my life, but moderate?
I practice extremism in the name of freedom without the slightest compunction; however, as conservative, no, extreme right wing as I am, I choose to live in a quaint little place I call
REALITY!
SCREW YOU MARCO!
Nikki Haley’s price tag was an economical $36,000, how much did Mitt-Witt pay for YOU?
Romney does not take chances. The man is completely risk averse, and never sticks his precious neck out for anyone. If he supported Marco Rubio in his Senate race, he either
A) knew that Rubio was a faux conservative just like him, and was playing 'scratch my back and I'll scratch yours', or
B) had inside knowledge that the game was about to turn for Crist, and he simply picked the assured winner to burnish his own non-existent conservative credentials.
Well, Newt paid dearly for that, and has since come home to the reservation. Even before he was a candidate, he admitted that he made some boneheaded calls, and owned up to them.
Had he not done so, there is no way on earth I'd be supporting him right now.
This is why I keep saying we should not consider someone for V.P., let alone President, until they’ve actually served a full-term and won reelection. I’m deeply skeptical of this desire to “affirmatively action” non-white-male Republican up to the presidential ticket as soon as they show up and give a good speech or two.
You're kidding, right? Look up the word, endorsement.
He's a US Senator from Florida, where the next presidential primary vote just happens to be scheduled. No, he didn't officially endorse Romney (in so many words), but he sure did go to bat for him, and even lied about his being a conservative, which he clearly is NOT.
That obviously doesn't disturb you, which says to me that you're supporting someone else in the race, at the very least. Worse, though, is the fact that you seem to be ok with Rubio giving Romney that undeserved praise.
There is NOTHING to praise Mitt Romney for.
Sorry, Ruby, but Romney is no conservative.
So will it be with Rubio. Especially, in this case, Rubio didn’t even endorse Romney the way Newt did to Dede.
True colors shining thru!!! Another RINO!!
“Romney is a conservative.”
And your proof is? That he campaigned for you? Bwahahaha!
ping
I think you're living in a place called The Old Paradigm. Things are never going to change, as long as you take the position that, "things just are the way they are."
As an American, you ought to know better. This country wouldn't even exist, if our forebears had maintained that attitude. If you truly want to practice extremism in the name of freedom, then start demanding a higher standard of those who call themselves our representatives.
No.
There is one other.
Cheers!
