| Gingrich Threatens to Skip Debates if Audiences Can’t Participate

Newt Gingrich insists his fans will not be silenced.
Mr. Gingrich, a former House speaker, on Tuesday morning threatened not participate in any future debates with audiences that have been instructed to be silent. That was the case on Monday, when Brian Williams of NBC News asked the audience of about 500 people who assembled for a debate in Tampa to hold their applause until the commercial breaks.
In an interview with the morning show Fox and Friends, Mr. Gingrich said NBCs rules amounted to stifling free speech. In what has become a standard line of attack for his anti-establishment campaign, Mr. Gingrich blamed the media for trying to silence a dissenting point of view.

I alerted the mods about the misleading headline too. It is either not a big deal to them...
or better yet they are going to use this thread as a bug zapper.

nobody in here can tell me they werent tired of Ron Pauls people cheering every sentence he spoke in 2008. "So the tactic backfired." Two entirely different things. A: nobody I ever saw suggested that the Paulites be banned from cheering - all I ever saw were folks making fun of the fact that a tiny part of the crowd would just scream at every answer.
And B: This is nothing like the spontaneous eruption of supporters of all candidates rising to cheer a candidate's response. Two entirely different situations altogether. Entirely

Was keeping track. Many outburst from the audience, mostly for Paul. His followers were NOT removed. There were a couple of freepers who were there. I’ll go ask them.

Newt need a Jerry Springer style audience to eat up his red meat one liners. A lot of you are going to be disappointed if he gets to the real debates and falls flat. Romney is better going after Obama in a composed setting.
We got a live one folks.

Romney got taken to the woodshed by a stumbling, bumbling, sot named Ted Kennedy in a debate for Massachusetts Senator.

Patton, We’re in the middle of a discussion regarding the audience participation last night.

I'm sure you have realized by now that I NEVER spoke those words (highlighted in Romney-turd-brown), those were from the surprise RomneyBot popping up to take a swing at Newt.
Sit back, relax and I'll buy you an Ozone Beer as we watch the show. :)

Thank you so much for that link onyx. I had seen it on other threads, but somehow never got the time to view it. It was the perfect balm for my aggravation on this thread, and even better, inspired me to fight all the harder to get the word out.
May God grant us strength, wisdom and courage.

Before you take an exit, or are shown the door, here's something for your (re)edification, on what it takes to win debates, primaries and presidential elections. Clue: It ain't RINO "composure."
The Ronald Reagan's "Nashua Moment" during a 1980 GOP debate: He defied the media. He agitated the crowd. Many, in both parties and the media, called it unpresidential. But enough American thought otherwise and gave him the Presidency over Jimmy Carter, by a landslide margin of 440 electoral college votes.
