CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. Rick Santorum kicked off his Florida campaign here Sunday by aiming directly at Newt Gingrich. Its great to be glib, but its better to be principled, the former Pennsylvania senator told a crowd of more than 200 standing in a hot parking lot of a strip mall in this town outside Fort Lauderdale.
Santorum dismissed the idea that the South Carolina primary reshaped the race into a Gingrich-Mitt Romney face-off. Saturdays results could very quickly be overshadowed by the Jan. 31 Florida primary, in which hes hoping to reemerge as a factor. You have three candidates who can be president. That wasnt the case moving into South Carolina, he added, referencing Jon Huntsman and Rick Perrys withdrawal from the race. Florida can now step back and say, Okay
who is the candidate that we here in South Florida should put our seal of approval on?

>> Go AWAY Santorum!
Better yet, take a lesson in class from the *other* Rick. Drop out and wholeheartedly support Gingrich!
What is tragic is the way Republicans are dstroying each other while Obama is collecting Millions for his campaign fund and being ignored.
Santorum could leave this campaign with his head held high and make a run next time , he is young. If he keeps this up he is not only killing our chances for the Presidency ,but his own.
I keep my mental file on Santorum in the same folder as the mental file I have on my ex-wife's ex-husband - filed under smarmy.
TS
There is plenty of reason to bash Santorum, as the tool that he is for the ESTABLISHMENT, who are bloody well bent on slowing Newt down capsize his MOMENTUM in Florida, a show-down state. It is all over the place that RINOS are now using the kitchen sink approach to get that job done. See Annie Coulter, Big Boy Christie, etc., and many other establishment surrogates out making the rounds, both nationally, and in their respective states.
These people have every intention of propping Santorum up in Florida to help deliver the spear to Newt. This means some cash injection I’m certain, and LOTS of encouragement, with likely a promise or two to tow the line, all if he will just endure the ridicule for what is becoming crystal clear to ALL whose first rodeo this is NOT.
Rick Bachmann is proving to be be all too eager to oblige. That alone makes for superb bash material.
I get that but bashing Santorum is not helping anything. What if Gingrich with warts gets Caininized who is left? Numerous threads bashing Santorum looks like DU.Oh wait my bad I forgot about all of the past threads bashing Bachmann,Perry or anyone in competition to someone not running. It is the style here now to look like DU bashing conservatives.
Santorum is the same kind of selfcentered sanctimonious twit--hey, look at me! I made a difference!
If Santorum stays in, the greater the chance of a brokered convention... and guess who could get the nomination then: SP!!!
“Santorum is a jealous, spiteful little man with a massive inferiority complex about Newt.”
It sure appears that way. Most of his venom has been toward Newt and very little towards Obama and Mitt. Maybe he feels he is owed the Conservative vote? I confess I don’t know what it is but he is getting bad advice.
glibly stated by the 50 something crybaby lobbyist from Virginia, err, ex-17% loser senator from Pennsylvania.
LOL! Glad you got the memo, chief.
I sense a showdown brewing up, they are starting to get a wee bit snippy around here.
BTW, who wears sweater vests anymore?
Give it up, Ricky-boy!!!
Good lord. Please, let's not go that kind of route. Stick to criticizing the man's positions and platform, not his wife's former boyfriends.
17% ?
not happening...
Everyone watched the debate and how you didn’t handle things well there, Rick.
Go away Romtorum. You can’t win you whiny moderate.
Iowa: Santorum, Romney, Gingrich
New Hampshire: Romney, Santorum, Gingrich
South Carolina: Gingrich, Romney, Santorum
The way I see it, Florida is the make-or-brake state for them. One misstep might cost them the whole campaign.
In an interview with stephanoplapuba, he addressed Newt as Congressman Gingrich. Within a minute or two he rattled off these negatives.
Newt is unelectable, erratic, grandiose, worrisome, unstable, undisciplined, untrustworthy, unreliable, risky, unfocused and explosive. He basically said that you never know what you'll get with Newt in charge.
Why not look at Gingrich's accomplishments when he worked with Reagan and was House Speaker? They're all over FR as well as his web site.
Furthermore, do you concur with this crap?:
