New Jersey Governor Chris Christie appeared on Meet the Press today to do damage control for Mitt Romney and to explain why Newt Gingrich would not be an ideal Republican nominee despite his strong victory in South Carolina last night. He claimed that Gingrichs past actions have embarrassed the Republican party, and Mitt Romney was more suited to be the nominee because of his record and how he conducted himself in office as opposed to Gingrich.
David Gregory asked Christie to explain what about Newt Gingrichs politics or his character disqualified him from being the Republican nominee against President Obama. Christie suggested that Gingrich was too much like Obama, and we dont need another legislator in the Oval Office. He reminded Gregory that Obama jumped directly from a position as a legislator to the presidency, making the argument that executive experience was vitally important for the next president to draw a stark contrast with how Obama has governed.

Gov Christie’s gluttony is an embarrassment.
obama-lapdog-yelping-alert.
Christie is a conservative by NJ standards. That is to say, not a flaming liberal.
Sayeth the rino.
Losing respect for the RINO from NJ.
Good Move: Join weight watchers!!
Awwwwww, does the godfather of illiteracy see his VP hopes flying out the window? I think so.
Shut-up Christies, you are the biggest embarrassment of all. Endorsing a raider in the hopes of future earmarks or position is not the way to go anymore.
Chris Christie drives the golf cart for the country club Republicans.
RHINO has been. Just a loud mouth with a sharp tongue.
“Chris, hand me my 5 iron.”
The supposed ‘Ethics’ violationn were largely a witch-hun/payback for Gingrich runninng the dirt on Wright who had the abusive book deal and other schemes he had used for years. I would like a good analysis of those chages and the entire history of that investigation — perhaps by a FReeper. Anyone know a good link?
Newt Gingrich should shine on the GOP and start the Tea Party.
It’s time!
Pot, meet kettle.
Never did like Christie. Loud mouth blow hard.
All this talk of ‘the party’ is very Communist Politburo sounding.
‘The party’ has served up Ford, Dole, Bush 41, Bush 43, and McCain. What allegiance or respect do we, including Gingrich, owe them?
Let us not forget that after Gingrich’s political assassination that the so-called GOP Congress was in competition with Monica Lewinsky for granting favors to Bill Clinton.
Sorry, couldn't resist.
Chris Christie, like many “fiscal” conservatives, is nothing more than a liberal who hates paying taxes.
Newt isn’t exactly the skinniest guy in the world you know.
