SummaryIn 2009, Congressman Gingrich supported a candidate for a special election for the 23rd district in New York that was pro-choice, pro gay marriage and supportive of numerous other items that most Republicans opposes. A more conservative candidate was available, but did not win a primary that consisted of a vote by 11 district members and not a public vote.
Congressman Gingrich came out in suppport for Mrs Scozzafava as she was the selected candidate for the Republican party. He asserted that many of her principles were in line with the Republican party. He appeared on numerous radio shows to defend his support for her.
As the special election neared, Mrs Scozzafava was trailing the Conservative Party candidate Hoffman. She dropped out of the race to prevent from splitting the vote, but threw her support behind the Democrat instead of the Conservative.
After the election, Congressman Gingrich stated that the Scozzafava candidacy was indeed a mistake that never should have happened.
The special election for the 23rd Congressional District is an important test leading up to the mid-term 2010 elections. Our best chance to put responsible and principled leaders in Washington starts here, with Dede Scozzafava.
The Republican Revolution in 1994 started very much like what we see today. Like then, our country is reeling from misguided liberal policies, high taxes and out-of-control spending. This special election in New Yorks 23rd Congressional District could be the first
... more election of the new Republican Revolution, but we need the momentum to get it started
Book Signing
Congressman Gingrich was confronted at a book signing concerning his support for Dede Scozzafava.
He responded by noting that she was the nominee picked by the local representatives, and that she supported a number of conservative ideals and principles.
Newt Gingrich vs his book "To Try Men's Souls"
Both Laura Ingraham and Hannity interviews on this happening was pulled by them.
You made me laugh about being perfect!! Ha!!
I think it’s rather sad — I liked clashing with them. they were pretty civil most of the time
Name them. And while you are at it -
Name Mitt's flaws
Name Santorum's flaws
And then to keep it all in perspective name what EACH ONE has contributed TO America. Not what America has done for them but what they did FOR America. Sidenote: Having children doesn't count. They have children in Cuba and Iran, also.
And if you are wearing a halo - please post your own flaws - just to keep it honest here. After all, Barry will concede Newt has flaws - I want to know who I'm dealing with here. Surely, you understand.
Thanks!
Oh, wait, you’re absolutely right. Newt has NO flaws, no baggage, nothing that might make a conservative question his conservatism AT ALL, nothing that might make a political realist question his November electability.
Go with that.
Look, I love Newt when he’s revved up and right. But ignoring what you and I already know to be some serious problems for him, as with flip-flop RomneyCare Mitt and with big-government Santorum, is not going to help. If you’re someone who’s hinting, “Shut up, don’t make ANY criticisms, and fall in line,” you’ve got the wrong FReeper here.
The fact that mitt supported liberal judges means nothing to those who are voting on someone’s religion, like those who supported barry on race. Same mindset. Good to read these HATERS of AMERICA who support mitt are gone. When I want liberalism, I know where to find it - the airwaves are full of it.
Long live America and it’s PATRIOTS! Long live FreeRepublic!
Let’s roll and squash the maggots who want to infest her!
They truly have no mind of their own, do they? Cults are a danger in so many ways. If they stayed to themselves, who cares but when they want to control an election that has an effect on America, then I care.
The easiest way, and at the same time the hardest way, to get Mormons out of Mormonism is to get them to think for themselves. Once you do that, Mormonism falls like a house of cards.
Yes, but America needs them also. I have no sympathy for those who don't care for those who fought and gave their life for America and for the freedoms we enjoy as they put their own agenda before that. In fact, they repulse me.
It's the spirit of deception/darkness that has overtaken their minds. And satan is the father of deception/lies. That's their enemy but they, unknowingly, embrace it and it's no wonder they can't receive Truth. However, God is good and if they earnestly seek Him, they will find the ONE TRUE GOD!
Which is why they need our prayers.
Looks like you wuz a PROPHET!!!
