It's 0930 EST and there's nothing in the sidebar that looks like a live thread for the SC primary . . .
That and a quarter will get you a phone call. That is if you can find a phone booth.
I think a lot of women—wives, mothers, grandmothers—are thinking “I just want that bas**rd out of there before he does more damage!” (forgive me for being coarse)
I have been pleasantly surprised by talking to some of my friends, and they like the fact that Newt is a fighter and would take it to Obama and expose him for the radical he really is.
That being said, God’s Will be done.
Om not in SC
But I can tell you its going great !!!
I would think
:)
Good morning ohio!
I had the same dilemma, only between Perry and Gingrich.
Perry made it easy for me by dropping, but I had pretty much decided on Newt.
Even though I am not a Newt fan and do not consider him that conservative, he can take the fight to the MSM and Obama...he proved that to me over the last 60 days. IMHO, Obama cannot be defeated without a strong offense.
It will be up to us (hopefully the ones that get him elected) to keep conservative pressure on him. No matter what he does, it will be far better for our nation than if Obama keeps the Presidency.
LOL...
We also had one that fit that bill -- minus one kid --- that made a good (not great) President.
Like I said, diminishing the accomplishments of other conservatives doesn’t make your candidate look bigger.
We’ll see if Newt can finally win a state tonight.
Palin didn’t run and Rick Perry is out, but Newt won’t be half bad.
BK - “Notwithstanding the polls showing Newt in third, behind Santorum?”
BK - “Thanks for confirming I recalled the poll correctly.”
So when you added the “s” to “poll” in your first post, that was a typo?
Electioneering is not permitted in the polling place. My experience in polling places is that people may say hello and ask about your family, but for the most part no one says much. All they want to do is record their vote and move on. Apparently it doesn’t work that way where you vote?
With your posting history over the last two weeks, I’d saay you’re a small “c” Catholic, as in cino. Deception and agitprop are your methodologies.
See, there you go again.
I wasn’t calling for women to lose the right to vote, but you somehow thought that the term universal suffrage applied that way.
No, I think that only people who pay taxes should have the right to vote. For if you don’t have a ‘stake in the game’... you shouldn’t get to play.
That, and only those that know the issues, know whose running, and know who supports what ought to really get near a ballot.
Which counts you out, as you think a primary is for voting on which potential first lady looks the prettiest.
And I’ll be honest, that makes you a friggin’ idiot.
It will be up to us (hopefully the ones that get him elected) to keep conservative pressure on him. No matter what he does, it will be far better for our nation than if Obama keeps the Presidency.
Hey there, FRiend!
I'm actually leaning the same way regarding the 'strong offense' which is part of why I'm watching this race so closely.
And you make a very good point as to the pressure we would need to keep on Newt as President. He has had a recent problem with leaning left (Scozzafava), and he would need to hear strongly from us if he started leaning that way again.
The question I have with him is, will he listen? No way to know that now.
“You know, up in the Old Testament part. The Book of Newt-Oer-Romney.”
Now, that’s funny, I don’t care who you are. (Larry the Cable Guy quote.)
Marianne got involved with Newt when he was a congressman with rising status. I think she wanted him for the status.
Researching the second marriage a bit:
In 1987, the couple separated. Newt claimed that he received a phone call on his birthday from his wife declaring that she was leaving. When he got home, he found only the guest bed and a TV. Newt and Marianne maintained separate residences for 6 years and worked out a separation agreement that was notarized, but never filed. In late 1993 or early 1994 the two reconciled and moved back in together. Marianne and Newt separated again on May 10, 1999 and Newt filed for divorce on July 29, 1999.Newt was a Congressman from 1979 thru November 1998, when he resigned. I think his "reconciliation" with Marianne was a sham to avoid having her badmouth him while he politically could not afford scandal. Meanwhile, she benefited from the sham by being part of the DC social scene, getting to play Queen Bee.
Meanwhile, Newt's real romantic figure was Callista, with whom he reportedly started in 1994 (the same year he had "reconciled" with Marianne). After he resigned from Congress in 1998, he no longer had any need to maintain the marriage and divorced Marianne in 1999.
Me? Re-read my post again.
Just one is enough to show that your statement was false - Santorum has beaten Newt in Florida. Writing him off is a mistake.
He was written off in Iowa too - how’d that one work out? He was written off afterwards:
“He lived in the state for the year”
“Romney PAC totally destroyed Newt”
“Iowa is a blue state”
“Iowa is a tiny state”
“Nobody cares about Iowa”
How many more excuses are going to come up for why Santorum won Iowa?
And will you be pushing polls next week, if Newt wins South Carolina?
I think Newt gets at least 40% tonight and probably even better! He will win this one, so let’s see by just how much...
