So what... Romney believes in a polygamist celestial marriage and the GOP love him.
Well, it’s all scummy and sleazy, and I don’t agree with what he did. However, it was a long time ago and he has since claimed that’s he’s confessed his wrongs and now appears to be in a stable marriage.
That’s all I can really fall back on in any of this. We’ve all done horrible scummy sleazy things and we’ve all sought forgiviness for it. I am not exempt in this matter, so therefore, I still don’t believe I can really judge Newt for any of it. It’s truly between Newt and his God (which I believe is the same as mine).
As far as his judgement and propensity to do it again ..well, one could say I still have the propensity to sin ... and that I could totally destoy my life and marriage if I chose to by repeating the sins of MY past, But honestly, time has really tempered me, and I’ve learned from that expeirence that it’s really not worth it anymore.
I have to believe it’s the same with Newt.
I do believe the man has gravitas. However, he’s also got courage and is bold. I have to really KNOW the man and understand the whole picture. He’s complex ....just as any of us are.
What I find personally more reprehensible are serial cheaters and philanderers who father children and then don’t take care of them. If THAT was what we’re seeing ...it would be different for me. But at this point, it’s between two consenting adults ...Newt proposed an arrangement which she declined. He has the love of his daughters and grandchildren. I don’t know what else to say.

As I said before of Cain when his stuff first broke, I’ll say it again; Newt is toast.
Again, my opinion of her statements and the opinions of everyone on FR is irrelevant; this is prediction of the views of the great mass of people out there.
What matters is the electorate.
The Open Marriage thing and the divorce after the MS diagnosis will destroy him with women, pretty much all of whom will believe Marianne.
For the average person out there, particularly the average women, this will enrage them infinitely more than someone parking their money in an overseas tax shelter, etc.

I like the sound of President Gingrich. Hope he’s learned and can survive the coming onslaught.
It'll harden the dislike for Newt already evident in female voters. But he may get a big influx of support from divorced men who peel away from Romney, Santorum, etc.
