InsiderAdvantage Poll: Gingrich Now Leads Romney in S. Carolina Newt 32 Mitt 29 Santorum 11 Perry 3

An InsiderAdvantage poll conducted Wednesday night has former House Speaker Newt Gingrich now leading the Republican primary race in South Carolina.

The poll of likely Republican primary voters has Gingrich with 32 percent, ahead of Mitt Romney who trailed close behind at 29 percent.

The results are a significant reversal for Romney, who had led polls before Tuesday's Fox News debate. A poll conducted by InsiderAdvantage last Sunday showed Romney with a double-digit lead over Gingrich.

The InsiderAdvantage poll is the first major South Carolina survey after the debate. Gingrich has been crediting with winning the debate.

The poll found that support for Ron Paul and Rick Santorum is faltering, with both pulling 15 and 11 percent, respectively.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry finished last with just 3 percent of the vote. Three percent of those polled selected "other candidate" and 7 percent said they had no opinion.

The survey polled 718 registered Republican voters.

Wow I didn't know all that. This site helped get me through the Clinton years, and I just discovered it by accident.

I like that Stossel guy. He was the only interesting person on news back before Fox. Wish I got Fox Business News. All my favorite business guys are there now. All I get is CNBC for business.

I think Newt will say, in a very soft voice, with bowed head, that he realized he did wrong when he was younger- and will always regret the pain he caused. But, he’s now older, found God, made peace with himself, has two loving daugthers, grandchildren ,and has been very happily married for whatever years.

We have 2 lives— The life we learn with and the life we live with after that.

Something like that- -:) But, I’m certainly no expert, I never cheated on my wife- then again, I never married. (LOL)

I wouldn’t anticipate Sarah Palin getting involved.

More like JC Watts and Newt’s daughters and grandchildren. A show of family.

It’s not like bitter divorce is a rarity. Newt can simply say. “I’m very sorry, that Marianne hasn’t been able to move on -— to find happiness. I’m very sorry our divroce was painful and that she remains bitter and angry. I have tried my level best tomake amends and to seek her forgiveness and I’ve repeatedly told her I’m truly sorry I caused her so much grief and sorrow.”

“I’m also disappointed that ABC fouund it fitting to _______________ when in fact, ABC, chooses to ignore, the obama adminstrations’s ________________ which is of great national importance.”

Huck has NOT endorsed Willard Flopney over any other candidate. Except over Ron Paul.

Willard will be pushing 70 in 2016. And he’ll be a two time loser after spending $100 mil of his own cash.

I say we go with 50-60 year old CONSERVATIVES. :~)

Well, I was here in ‘98, but I had WebTV, so I didn’t post, I read (lurked). I tried posting once or twice, but got told off and never tried again, because in the old days, you had to remember all the html and if you forgot to close the bold </b> for example, the next person’s comments posted in bold. That’s what happened to me...LOL. When I got my first computer, I signed-up under this screen name and never made another html mistake. I think it was made easier by then. But, that’s how I can recall many the old timers and the old days. When I became active, I felt like I knew a lot of them, but of course, they didn’t know me.

Right. He’s already said as much. He can take the high road and lay into ABC for taking advantage of a angry, bitter woman, too, still hurting from a painful divorce.

I think he will mention, there is nothing new that she hadn’t already said, in ‘95 and again 2 weeks ago to the Huffington-Puffington Post.

Incorrect. If you can find a link, show us. But I’ll save you the time, there isn’t one.

Huck has endorsed no one in this field. So far.

Newtie is the cutie
Who will give Romney the boot

Get out the pitchforks
Get out the torches
Will get so hot for Bammy
Until it scorches
His ugly arse
His ugly mug
When he gets the boot
None will give a fug

So do not fret
Do not pout
We’ll all give a great shout
When Newtie boots Obama out...

Of the People’s House
Out goes Moochelle
And the Jug Eared louse
A new day for America
Will come and be dawned
When finally the Kenyan
Is driven out and gone.....

Back to Kenya his ancestral land
That he was always more loyal to
Than America the Grand

(just written by me)

An update from Prof. Jacobson:

More: Robert Costa of NRO tweets: “Newt World tells me ABC intvu is “retread” of Esquire piece. Negotiations have been going on since Tues. Leak to Drudge sped up airing”

Something to think about – If Drudge doesn’t report this, it sits until after S.C. and is less of a big deal. Drudge is tight with Romney advisor (Matthew Rhoades)and has helped Romney with coverage in 2007 as McCain surging (as reported by Jim Geraghty) and 2011 (as reported by Ben Smith). Not saying Romney campaign involved, but fits Drudge pattern.

Now it all makes sense: Insider Advantage – Newt up 3 pts in SC (h/t Dynamism in Tip Line)

You’re right, Sarah does soak up all the oxygen- but that’s why you bring her in. She doesn’t even have to endorse him. Just speak at a few rallies that he attends— The media won’t be asking Newt about his wife— they’ll be asking about Sarah as VP,,,etc- You just have to tie up Friday’s news cycle.

As for her contract- she’s going to be Sec of Energy- what does she care about Fox.

As to your questions about the effect of Marrianne on the polls-—I honestly don’t think it matters. Especially, if hopefully Rush and Laura and Levin express outrage at this smear campaign. This attack is much to transparent and Machiavellian (sp)— and that’s how conservative media should play it. This is a deliberate effort to directly effect a primary.

I’m sure you remember, Clinton pulled this in 92 when he released the Walsh report, the Friday before election day. But people couldn’t understand that report-—it just looked bad- so Bush lost his momentum. But, this situation is not complicated- people know about divorces- and they can see throughthis manipulation.

But, now I’m finally done it.... I’m sure we’ll chat again on the topic(s)- you obviously give them considerable thought and raise interesting issues and difficult questions, not easy to answer in a sentnce or 2—

Have a good night.-:)

Quit saying it because it makes you sound like you’re pulling for Obama OVER Newt.

Are you really that bitter?

How do we know she’s going to say bad stuff about this marriage anyway? But if so, she’s obviously a disgruntled wife seeking revenge...and the money she’s being paid probably is substantial...maybe soros coughed it up. At any rate this stuff is getting old and frankly the news agencies should be ashammed for even considering something that happened 11 yrs. ago....tired of this nonesense when our country is in such peril.

Cause of what she said before in several interviews before. Quote I will sink his election. In Aug 2010 she said that in an interview. But she might just come across as a vindictive woman. Unless Gloria Alred is beside her then all bets are off....

This has been on the internet for a couple of years...

Well, from where I sit, Newt is winning. So why would you want Santorum to drop out, when Newt’s going to collect all the delegates from South Carolina?

The field is too broad.

Because of cross over voters in South Carolina, democrats can vote in the Republican primary.

They will vote for Romney.

Perry, Santorum, and Gingrich will get fewer votes.

Romney wins.

Romney up against Obama... Obama wins.

America loses.

Yeh, that’s kinda what he said. He made mistakes and was sorry for them he had had to ask God for forgiveness, and people would have to make their own judgment about him as he is now.

Bachmann was my third choice behind Santorum. I’ve heard an interview after Bachmann dropped out....she never endorsed Newt and asked for him to pull the ads using her voice. Of course the same thing Newt criticized Romney over, yet has not made an effort to comply. Hypocrite!
