Santorum being a Beavis w/ Hannity accusing Newt of being “empheral” on issues ...

And he is asserting that letting people keep their own SS money and invest for their retirement is a new entitlement?!?

Ok. I have withheld any opinion until this debate. Here is my take.

Mitt, Newt and and Santorum believe government can solve America's problems. Perry thinks state government can. And Paul is still completely wacky about foreign policy.u

No one in this field should be president. But all would be better than Obama.

I'd pick Newt over the rest. Paul would come in a semi-close second place. Perry is tied with Paul. I have to wonder if Perry is just simple enough to be President. His principles seem to be there. I have to balance that against 4 years of media abuse. I have to pick Newt or Perry.

Looking at this logically, Gingrich's support of Scozzafava and statements at the time were a direct slap at the Tea Party, of which I'm a supporter. While I've forgiven Gingrich, I haven't forgotten.

Santorum was the junior Senator to then Senator Specter, and I fully acknowledge that Specter was a disaster. But, as disgusted as I was with Santorum’s endorsement, I do understand party loyalty and politics. For that matter, most of the Republican office holders endorsed Specter.

I have always believed that this multi debate format would benefit Gingrich. But, should he make it as the nominee, there might be only one or two debates.

Gingrich is the better debater. But, in terms of a candidate, Santorum would be much harder to run against, as he hasn't altered his positions, like him or hate him, throughout his political career.

Santorum is Bachmann II tonight, absolutely. He is desperate, and he knows very well that Newt was the MAN tonight! Bet he sinks some and Newt sees good movement from this debate in his favor. Maybe even get some Paul and Romney supporters. A standing O in the room had to be very hard to resist from the only Churchillian performance seen on stage!

Unfortunately for me I’m in Oregon so what I think doesn’t matter at this point.

And then there is the misery of living in a state that will surely vote for the communist again.

Plus Spector is pro-abort. He’s made Roberts and I think Alito both swear to uphold Roe v Wade as some sort of magically super-settled law, beyond all other laws.

That's the silliest thing I've ever heard. You must know little about Alito, he would have laughed in his face.

Santorum says one thing and his voting record says another.

As I said, he not only supported Specter, he voted with him more often than not.

Santorum is a big government spender.

He is not a fiscal conservative.

Don't have to be Einstein to figure that out!

I do think he is right about the Drug War. But you cannot just ignore that the root of the issue lies in public morals. Or rather in public appetites. How in the world does one reduce the demand for drugs?

Santorum and Mitt saying Newts SS plan would cost too much. Did they not hear him say he would consolidate all those fed departments??

Romney tripped himself up tonight over the SuperPacs. Waiting to see if Newt or anyone else capitalizes tomorrow.

HE MAKES ME BELIEVE IN AMERICA AGAIN,

ME TOO. Common sense, clear and concise, and uses few words to get the point across. I also would feel safe with the reigns of government in his leadership.

Loved how he took Juan Wms. to task on the Food Stamp issue, Juan trying to make it a racial issue, Newt school the media again.

Newt the Clear winner, standing ovation, that gives me great hope for S.C. and America.

>> Newt nailed his answers and made Beir look petty.

Out of the gate, the appearance of favoritism for Romney is undeniable. Curious to see how this plays out. Watching the debate on DVR.

I will. Listening to Santorum right now going after Newt and not referring to his title of ‘Speaker’, now referring to him as ‘congressman’ Gingrich is petty and stands out negatively for Rick.

If Santorum believes he elevates himself by reducing Gingrich in this way, it will not help him. Santorum suffers from the fact that he was just another senator, not a leader of anything substantial. Santorum lacks the ‘gravitas’ needed to be elevated to the nomination at such a critical time as this. Newt Gingrich is the senior candidate and it is very obvious.

Not true. But vote whom you want to vote for. You go vote 6,210 times and tell me how you do. You want perfection you want get it. And when you compare records, make sure you take a look at the era in politics, because it makes a difference.

Let me say this about Newt when I listen to him; HE MAKES ME BELIEVE IN AMERICA AGAIN!!!

To me that is major! Odumbo has done such a number on this country that we need someone to show us they have faith that they can restore that "shining city on the hill" once again.
