Did you know that many of the talk radio hosts that you listen to on a regular basis use the same company to broadcast their shows? Clear Channel boasts names like Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, and even Coast to Coast AM!
Michael Savage is TRN, but is on a lot of Clear Channel stations.
Clear Channel is the largest owner of radio stations in the United State [...]
Did you know that Clear Channel is owned (in large part) by Bain Capital?
On Friday, November 17, 2006, Clear Channel announced that it was going private and selling off almost one-third of its radio assets... The buyers, led by Bain Capital Partners and Thomas H. Lee Partners, agreed to pay $26.7 billion for the company.
Bain Capital was founded by Mitt Romney. Mitt is retired now, but he still profits from Bain Capital according to the New York Times.
Clear Channel Communications is a privately owned company controlled by the private equity companies Bain Capital Partners LLC and Thomas H. Lee Partners LP. Clear Channel was sold for $18.7 billion in cash plus the assumption of $8 billion in debt. The transaction closed on July 24, 2008. The operating company which technically owns Clear Channel is called CC Media Holdings, Inc.
Think about that the next time you're flipping channels on the radio and realize that Rush Limbaugh calls the candidates "Romney", "Non-Romney", and "Loony"...
Why do these other candidates get called "Non-Romney"?
Do you think you'll be hearing about this story in most of the media sources you frequent?
Then it's up to you to get the word out. (Especially since by sharing tips like this I help cement that I won't ever become one of those big names in talk radio)

A hostile takeover of the right, one writer called it. http://thehill.com/blogs/pundits-blog/presidential-campaign/193999-mitt-romneys-hostile-takeover-of-the-right
Doubtless the GOP activist base will be asset-stripped before getting shipped to China.
Rush is a Romney fan? Wow, who knew? I listen to him regularly (Rush, that is, not Romney) and I didn’t know that!
Rush talked about Bain Capital owning Clear
Channel on his show Friday. So what?
Do you think Rush is in the tank for Mitt? Be honest, now.
I'm a member of the NRA...therefore.....the NRA runs my life.
0bama is the POTUS; I live in the U.S.
Therefore, I am a supporter of 0bama.
NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who says Mitt owns Bain? Maybe you should do a little homework before posting.
Obviously written by someone who hasn’t listened to Rush. He is far from a Mitt endorser. I’d say the opposite...he is encouraging what he refers to an anti-Establishment revolution, and he clearly believes Mitt is the “Establishment” choice.
Or it could be that the MSM is aware that Romney left Bain in 1998 and that this is a non-story.
The idea that Rush is kow-towing to Romney because of this is pretty laughable.
That headline blares a gross distortion of reality, and is a pathetic, convoluted attempt to ‘connect the dots.’ It feeds right into the ‘conservatives are paranoid’ meme.
ROVE!!!
Wonder if this explains why Bill Handel of KFI (Clear Channel station in L.A.) is a Romneybot.
Other than Huntsman and Paul, Rush has been toughest on Mitt. Some of you anti-Mitt people are nuttier than squirrel poop!
New York times is where I get all my facts?s
"Did you know that Clear Channel is owned (in large part) by Bain Capital? "
(in large part) I question facts that are in parentheses even if supported by the New York Times.
“Rush talked about Bain Capital owning Clear Channel on his show Friday. So what?”
Rush only admitted it after the story had broke. So what? He was also forced to back off his otherwise inexplicable defense of Bain Capital over Gingrich.
Rush is definitely on Romney’s side, but I don’t think this is the reason for it. We had a discussion on another thread...my opinion is a combination of “Rush is losing it and just wants to go hang out on the golf course with his latest trophy wife” and something suggested by another Freeper, which is that Rush loves the company of the rich and powerful and always boasts about how he is accepted among them now...because he feels that his own background was very inferior and he’s happy that they’ll admit him to the club.
Take your pick, but I’m not sure it really has to do with the owners of the channel. On the other hand...who knows? Maybe unconsciously it does, and the connection is worth noting.
