The Talk Shows
January 15th, 2012
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): OP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich; Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev.; Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and Rep. Tim Scott, R-S.C.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Santorum; Gingrich; Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C.
THIS WEEK (ABC): OP presidential candidate Rick Perry; TV host Stephen Colbert.
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN): GOP presidential candidate Rick Perry; TV host Stephen Colbert.
I tell all my friends to donate to the individual candidate until the RNC starts promoting conservatism.
Now that's just sad ..... love a man in boots!
I know I will get shot down in flames by the regular posters on this thread who say that you need substance over rhetoric and image which is fine when choosing a candidate to suit you but that candidate has then got to appeal to the uninformed general public.
You clearly don't understand that Wall Street doesn't play by Main Street's rules. They didn't with mortgage-backed securities and they don't with "private equity" firms like Bain. Bain makes their money by driving firms into huge debt and then transferring the borrowed money to themselves. When the firm goes bankrupt, the money Bain received is untouchable by law, just as your previously paid salary would be if your employer went bankrupt. The debt makes it much harder for those firms to survive and drives them into bankruptcy, but Bain has already paid themselves and loses no money.
This month Hostess, Coach (bus company) and Quizno's went bankrupt or are on the verge of going bankrupt. All are owned by private equity firms.
"What Id like to see Mitt Romney do is to show an example of a buyout that went well. The only success stories hes talking about on any level are venture capital investments Staples and Sports Authority. Personally I like venture capital, I think it provides a lot of value, but thats not what he did mostly, and thats not what these takeovers are about."
Still trying to figure out if Jodi’s book is a hit piece with a little sugar on top or another sop to Obama.
If it’s a hit piece, I wouldn’t mind reading it.
I got to meet Rubio in Sept. I'm not sure he will run for VP. I guess we will find out if he's asked.Too bad we can't clone these guys!
What is a PCP meeting?
Maybe later I’ll tell my story.
I recovered but I always remember, just because you are paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not out to get you.
I agree
We knock alot of doors for the campaign and I am always amazed at the number of liberal Repubs out there. Lots of them hate the Tea Party because the establishmedia tells them to.
Pray for America
snugs, we would never shoot you down. We love you and who would fix our Sunday dinner.
By the way, I looked up parsnips. It said they are similar to carrots but not as sweet or as red. I thought they were more like turnips.
And your comment was really spot on. As Miss Marple posted last week, most people thought Gore won the debates but voted for Bush.
Gore came across as pompous and cold and Bush is extremely likeable.
Everyone knows who my candidate is as I proudly display it in my tag line.
Unfortunately, he is not doing well in the polls. But if he could catch fire somehow, we would have a candidate who is both a tried and true conservative in every sense of the word, but who is also likeable and charismatic.
He might even be persuaded to wear the boots.
I wouldn’t predict any candidate at this point. It’s too fluid. There’s also the question of Gingrich/Santorum/Perry having the funds to buy the ad time in FL.
We’ll know more after SC.
Very contorted...and in the end...if followed to it’s conclusion...very dangerous for the future of this country.
“Jodi Kantor on Face the Nation, Scheiffer says hes been reading the book and says he found it quite complimentary. Is Jodi surprised with the reaction from the whitehouse? She says, yes. The Whitehouse has been quite upset with her portrayal of Michelle.
Bob plays the comments of Michelle complaining about being portrayed as an angry black woman. Jodi says she portrayed Michelle as a very strong woman.....why Michelle took offense is beyond her.
Kantor talks about the inner circle that in the past has been portrayed as very united, when in fact it is NOT. Points to Gibbs who did not like Jarrettt and did not agree with her influence. Gibbs stopped taking her seriously after a while.
Kantor gives a warning that people should be aware of this going into 2012. People should consider obamas management skills in handling his own staff (inner circel) when making their decision in 2012. Oooohhhh, go Jodi.”
Bump!
Of course it is as well as the establishment machine inside the Party. Our state machine is supporting Mitt which I am supporting Rick.
Pray for America
Yes, we are all well to be wise about the demise of the U. S. Constitution if the Republican works well with this bunch of Democrats that would pass an unconstitutional bill at face value such as the health care bill where the U. S. Constitution arguments against it aren’t heard in the public arena...
In a veer back to this thread topic, I heard one pundit or another comment that this gubmint admin is working on a peace treaty with the Taliban, thus Hill’s shill and Panetta’s curse to those soldiers. Then the pundit, Crystal I think, said this so-called peace talk is kind of like the Paris Peace treaty talks during Vietnam. Something traitor Kerry was involved in, but I digress.
Again I sit up in shock. Hey, I really thought the Paris Peace talks at the time were legit, not just a cover for ending the war. So is this talk of peace with Taliban a way to get us out of Afghanistan...come on, I got a bridge to sell anyone who’s dumb enough to believe that a loose bunch of nutballs using a religion as a reason to rape, murder and control a populace is going to adhere to any kind of peace treaty.
Problem here is, as well as in Afghanistan, is America doesn’t fight to win wars anymore. We go in then the politicos get all involved with what the army’s doing and somebody gets a military contract....somebody gets free heating oil for their district....and soon is a big mire and the American people get sick of it.
It’s why Ron Paul gets any traction at all in that Americans want to see an end in sight in Iraq and Afghanistan. And I must suppose that these peace talks with the Taliban will be believed by the boobs amongst us.
Frankly I want to see America out of Iraq and Afghanistan but I’d sure like to see it happen with smiles, victory and an iron-hand oversight after the fact to make sure this does not happen again.
Kind of like Japan was handled, as I see it.
The votes that are vial are from people who probably only vote in a general election once every 4 years; do not understand the real issues but get caught up in the media hype and attach themselves to a candidate for reasons us political junkies find hard to understand. Therefore appearance and charisma is important.
Those Marines simply took the “PI$$ ON ‘EM” sentiment literally.
As an ex-soldier, I find no fault with their actions. If anyone is offended, sorry about that but learn to live with it.
