SUMTER, S.C. Presidential candidates hear tales of woe all the time on the campaign trail. But rarely does one respond by pulling cash out of his back pocket to help a struggling voter pay her bills.
Mitt Romney did just that here Saturday night, according to ABC News. When a 55-year-old woman, Ruth Williams, who said she lost her job last October, approached the Republican presidential front-runner on the rope line following a campaign rally in Sumter, he gave her what an aide later said was about $50 or $60.
It did not appear that the exchange was caught on camera, but ABCs off-air reporter, Emily Friedman, witnessed it and interviewed Williams afterward. Williams told Friedman that she has been volunteering at Romneys Columbia, S.C., campaign offices and has been following his campaign since first spotting his campaign bus on Wednesday.
I was on the highway praying and said, God, tell me how to get [my] lights on, Williams, apparently referring to her electricity bill, told Friedman. I pulled up to a stop sign and his bus was there. And then God said, Follow the bus, and I followed the bus.

Which truly illustrates how squalid both men are.
Romney’s cheap (see how wonderful I am) publicized trick.
They witness a lot of things. Who cares. The woman asked for help and someone gave it to her. Can we concentrate on Obama and the crappy economy instead?
Who’s stopping you?
Go post a thread and ping me.
Walking around money? Now done in public. Sheesh.
Obama may have failed to pay for that woman’s mortgage, gas, student loans, etc., but it looks like Romney is going to finish the job.
The fact is that at best Romney will follow the pattern of the classic limousine liberal. Out of a sense of guilt over his ill-gotten gains in the swamp of Wall Street financial wheeling and dealing, he becomes a socialist who wants to redistribute money to the less “fortunate.” For the most part, however, it won’t be his own money.
Now please, everyone is questioning Myth Romney’s motivations here.
That’s not fair.
After the cameras were off, I’ll have you know Myth had his campaign staffers discreetly contact the woman and offer her a ride home on top of his car.
"Buyout baron," career-election-loser Romney has already said on television interviews that he would not cut taxes for those making over $200,000 (i.e. he basically endorsed the Obama tax plan) because since he is a rich guy, the voters would perceive him as helping his rich buddies if he did that. You can sort of see where Romney gets his principles. You can also see why he loves socialism so much...it helps him reform his image as a heartless Wall Street tycoon.

tell her to give back the Monopoly money...
Good post.
You said, "Check out his TARP proceeds thats the scandal" implying that he received money from TARP directly. Instead we find out that he received money from donors who received money from TARP.
Can you post a link showing that she's done this or some other proof?
This fits with the age-old tendency for certain of the very rich, Buffett, Gates, etc., to think, "Now that I've got it, I'm going to make it more difficult for anyone else to make it." It is extraordinarily selfish, not really caring about the less fortunate as they would have us believe. It was actually the most maligned rich, like John Rockefeller, who did the most good.
Contributions to legislative and statewide candidates accounted for $12.6 million, or 62 percent of the contributions made by the identified financial institutions. Although gubernatorial candidates dominated the top 10 candidates' list, legislative candidates as a group actually received 63 percent of the contributions to candidates. House candidates received $4.7 million, while Senate candidates received $3.3 million.
TARP recipients slightly favored Republican candidates by donating $7.4 million to them; Democratic candidates received $5.1 million. Contributions were primarily given to incumbents, who received a staggering $10.2 millionin stark contrast to the $572,226 going to candidates challenging an incumbent, and $1.8 million to candidates vying for an open seat. Seventy-eight percent of the money contributed ($9.9 million) went to winning candidates. Losing candidates received only $1.6 million. Lawmakers not up for election received $1.1 million.

If enough folks do that we are stuck with zero again. That cannot be allowed to happen. We cannot survive more of that communist cretin.
IF we take the Senate and keep the House, there is a strong chance we can drag Mitt to the right.
Otherwise, this nation is doomed.
IMHO.
“IF we take the Senate and keep the House, there is a strong chance we can drag Mitt to the right.”
Sellout GOP ‘leaders’ have been dragging the nation to the left since 1989. We are in this place because of sellout GOP ‘leaders’. Enough is enough. To hell with them. If it is not a conservative or libertarian, it is NOT getting my vote.
She would talk with the woman, get to know about her circumstances and look into help that would make a difference. You betcha.
Can you post a link showing that she’s done this or some other proof?
If she is a true Christian her acts of generosity would not be known by anyone uninvolved. Jesus admonishes us when giving to not let the left hand know what the right hand is doing. In other words, give in secret that only your Father in Heaven will know your act of kindness. Do not make a show of generosity as some do.
You ask for proof but there is no proof and cannot be if the act is a true act of charity and not simply a proof of one’s generosity.
‘You ask for proof but there is no proof’
Then your whole idea is specious at best, pure out wishful fantasy actually. You cannot get in someone’s heart and know ‘what she would do’. I have seen this over and over with this Palin Fan Club; many of you put forth these ridiculous scenarios of what Palin would do and NONE of you know her beyond your own opinions. It makes you look totally foolish. Many of you were fooled into the sold out belief that in her heart, ‘she’s running!’ And she’s not.
Okay, so St. Sarah is running around helping people but can't tell about it. Got it!
Glad you have it all figured out.
