Meanwhile, the Marine Corps has appointed a three-star general to decide what disciplinary action to take against the four Marine snipers.
Lt. Gen. Thomas Waldhauser will name another officer to lead an internal Marine Corps investigation. That investigation will be in addition to a criminal probe already under way by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. Waldhauser, who is commander of Marine Corps Forces Central Command, will determine how to proceed once both investigations are completed.
NCIS Communications Director Maryann Cummings also said her department's probe is still "in its very early stages."
"At this point, NCIS has identified and talked to the four Marines in the video. All four are currently in the U.S.. NCIS investigators are still tracking down information on the individual(s) who created and posted the video as well as initiating computer forensic techniques on the video itself," Cummings said. "NCIS conducts a wide range of law enforcement missions for the Department of the Navy. As always, the goal is to gather every possible fact, put the facts into context, and present the results of the investigation to a convening authority to take the appropriate action. NCIS is committed to conducting a comprehensive and thorough investigation."
Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and military leaders have promised an exhaustive investigation and sought to contain the damage at home and abroad.

I think the book “Unbroken” by Laura Hillenbrand needs to be read by every high school student and government employee and then maybe we can rationally discuss this incident. Really the hysterics are over the top.
OH pahleeeeze. The dummies need to GET OVER IT.
I bet all the people that have suffered at the hand of the Islamofascist wish all they had to endure was some guy peeing on them.
Maybe we should go back to the old ways...Where anger was a normal emotion.....
In WW2 Life Magazine ran a picture of a Japanese soldier’s head mounted on the headlight of one of our tanks. Disturbing, but consider the sneak attack on PH and the Bataan death march and perhaps understandable. War IS hell. Someone should kick the ass of the photographer.
I have not heard where this video came from. Does anyone know?
I agree, but of course, it won’t...especially not in public schools.
with what crimes can they be charged?
the Marines may be Marines but they are still kids and kids do stuff like this. Remember??
Asked my dad (former major Marine Pilot) about this and as far as he knows there is nothing in the UCMJ about urinating on dead people. Now conduct unbecoming (but that applies to officers) maybe but that’s so general. Now if they were ordered not to urinate and they did, well defying orders ..... but these guys will be tried and convicted in the media and the state department. I guess it’s okay to have sex in the Oval Office by a president but G-d forbid you pee on a dead enemy combatant.
Some people just are not aware of the old, often used phrase, especially after just getting rid of someone who only moments ago was intent on seeing that you could/would never relieve yourself again.
Exactly, a lot of stuff went on when I as in the Military, but if a camera showed up somebody got their ass kicked.
thank you for that link....
lets form a new group....."MOVE ON TO FAST AND FURIOUS"....
When will we ever stop these evil marines from killing innocent people.
Will anyone ever ask the marines what had they just been through or what had just happened to their brothers-in-arms? Or did we just jump to our pansy-assed conclusion that American soldiers are evil?
Grow a frickin' pair America or die a cowards' death!
Again, I apologize for my exuberance but this second guessing of our young men really pi$$es me off (my late brother was a marine - I lack perspective).
My question is, who released this/these photos to the press?
Imho, that is the real traitor. I can understand the behavior, not condone it, but certainly understand it given what these soldiers and their families have gone through. Would I do it even in their circumstances? I hope not, but seriously, who knows what any one of us would do if we were their age, etc., and given the overwhelming circumstances and immense pressure.
Make them each drink three pitchers of beer, then stand at parade rest while listening to one of Obama’s long winded speeches. That’s about right.
