It was Day 1 of what is shaping up as a 10-day test of whether conservatives can marshal the arguments, tactics and unity to slow Mr. Romney and rally around a single alternative -- and of whether Mr. Romney, now in a commanding position, can show the muscle needed to stamp out the opposition and take control of the party.

What happens if I do not meet the mandate?
If you dont have health insurance by Dec. 31, 2007, you will lose your personal income tax exemption for 2007. That exemption gives you a Massachusetts tax savings of approximately $219.
In 2008, the cost of the penalty goes up. The fine will equal half of the cost of the lowest-priced Health Connector-certified plan for each month that you dont have coverage
Waivers will be available for those who cannot afford a plan that meets the rules. Check back for updates.
How is the mandate enforced?
The Massachusetts Department of Revenue will enforce the individual mandate through the tax process

and YES WE CAN beat their frigging pick of another milquetoast asshat for us to vote for
do I sound pissed?
pass and hat tip to Mark Levin..the rest can jump off a dry bridge
Baloney.
Romney is ahead of Newt in the latest SC polls by a hair, after eking out a very unimpressive victory in his own back yard. His tie in Iowa with one of the second tier candidates was also a dismal performance by the guy the press loves to call "the Republican front runner".
Mitts 'inevitability' status is a complete myth, created in the bowels of his campaign and the state-run media.
I hope you are right...those Florida polls are awful
Go SC! whack-O-willard!
The Florida polls are going to shift dramatically after Newt destroys Romney in SC. Even then, we'll still have 46 states left to go, and Mitt will have the wind in his face the whole way.
I cannot believe that Romney made those. They are cheesy and as rich as he is, I can’t see him making signs like that. I know that Romney is for gay rights and poop shoot lovers, but I don’t believe he made that poster. I think it was made by a person who does not like Romney. Don’t you find it hard to believe that Romney would make such a cheep poster? Santorum 2012!!!!
Santorum will end up winning SC. Newt is losing support as Santorum is gaining. Rasmussen has Santorum ahead of Newt in SC.
I do think that of all the Republicans still viable, Rick Santorum is the best choice.
"This whole idea of personal autonomy, well I dont think most conservatives hold that point of view. Some do. They have this idea that people should be left alone, be able to do whatever they want to do, government should keep our taxes down and keep our regulations low, that we shouldnt get involved in the bedroom, we shouldnt get involved in cultural issues. You know, people should do whatever they want. Well, that is not how traditional conservatives view the world and I think most conservatives understand that individuals cant go it alone." [Source]
"What was my vision? I came to the uncomfortable realization that conservatives were not only reluctant to spend government dollars on the poor, they hadnt even thought much about what might work better. I often describe my conservative colleagues during this time as simply cheap liberals. My own economically modest personal background and my faith had taught me to care for those who are less fortunate, but I too had not yet given much thought to the proper role of government in this mission." Rick Santorum, p. IX It Takes a Family: Conservatism and the Common Good (2005)
"I suspect some will dismiss my ideas as just an extended version of compassionate conservatism. Some will reject what I have said as a kind of Big Government Conservatism. Some will say that what Ive tried to argue isnt conservatism at all. But I believe what Ive been presenting is the genuine conservatism our Founders envisioned. One that fosters the opportunity for all Americans to live as we are called to live, in selfless families that contribute to the general welfare, the common good." Rick Santorum, p. 421 It Takes a Family: Conservatism and the Common Good (2005)
"If you're a conservative, there really is only one place to go right now. I would even argue farther than that. If you're a Republican, if you're a Republican in the broadest sense, there is only one place to go right now and that's Mitt Romney." Rick Santorum, 02/1/2008 [source]

I 1 million percent agreed with Santorum at this point in the election in 2008. I hated McCain and did not want him to be the nominee. He was weak and obviously Rick Santorum thought the same. It seemed that Rick and I were right. McCain was weak and a horrible candidate.
Do you have a preferred candidate?
See 2nd half of my tagline.
It's all those danged New Yawkers moving down South to Florida, lowering the IQ in both states. (Except Rush)
