Car owners with a television are 27 percent more likely to suffer heart attacks than people who have neither, according to a global study on physical exercise and heart disease published Wednesday.
More broadly, the study -- covering more than 29,000 people in 52 countries -- showed that working up a light sweat may be the best preventative medicine against heart failure.
The third world “move back into mud huts and buy a bike” crowd is at it again...
I am safe my car doesn’t have a TV and I don’t own it.
More agenda driven junk science.
Pray for America
I would think that people making “studies” all day are at a 57% increase at heat attacks and a 789% increase of having no friends.
In other irrelevant statistic news, approximately 50% of all married people are male.
Yeah, because it’s so much better to die from starvation ,cholera or AIDS at 25 years old than clogged arteries at 75.
Not only that, but people who have heart attacks usually have eaten one or more grains within a day of the heart attack. Ban Veganism!
Another scientific study by the friends of America in Kenya
Excellent point! I’d rather drop dead in front of my tv than in a mud hut in some turd world nation from malaria.
I guess the folks with a TV and Car had heart attacks because they are out working hard for a living to pay for this stuff.
They are writing the content for curricula for teachers—to destroy logical thinking in our children—so we have a bunch of “useless idiots” incapable of coherent, analytical thinking.
Agenda driven BS by der Leader’s Green Machine....
Ding-ding-ding-ding! We have a winner!
No doubt, they are teaching this in public schools....
Not just their stuff...but stuff for all of the freeloaders as well!
More Junk Science.
This is most likely an observational study, not a randomized, prospective trial of tv and/or car ownership as it relates to health. (There is no link given at the article to the scientific paper).
In an observational study, correlation does not prove causation.
People who can afford cars and televisions (especially in countries aoutside the US) may also eat richer foods, drink more alcohol, smoke cigarettes, etc. The lack of controls and the multiple confounding factors invalidate the conclusions as presented.
It is impossible to control for these things in an observational study.
You beat me to it. The same people who would rather you eat dead weeds and mud rather than tasty animals.
