I’m sending this link to those of you who I believe live in NY. We have a college kid from VA missing in NY - Manhattan area.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/01/11/mystery-surrounds-disappearance-virginia-college-student-visiting-new-york-city/

Can you please alert anyone you know that lives in that area to be on the lookout for him?

(Apologies to any of you not in NY.)

Article says he went to Central Park.
He might still be in the park.
I’m miles westish from there, I don’t know offhand anyone actually in the city.

This is sad, and I have to say that I fear the worst for the poor kid.

Leaving his stuff behind means that he wasn't planning on running away.
No history of drug use means he didn't hook up with some "crack ho" at a bar somewhere and currently holed up in a basement in Queens somewhere stoned out of his senses, not knowing what day it is. (Likewise, after two weeks, he should have had a lucid moment to realize where he was.)

I'm hoping he turns up in a hospital somewhere, but the police should be able to find him.

Sad to say that he likely had a bad encounter along one of those walks. There's a lot of greenery around there to get lost in, so he might be found right away. I hope he didn't wind up in either river.
