if the Perry people had voted for the Right Rick, Santorum would be in fourth place. He may yet edge out Newt for fourth, some bragging rights, eh?

Of greater importance, I think, is getting 10% to earn a delegate. I'm guessing they do not round.

If by ‘others’ you mean ‘Newt’. I agree.

If we trade Newt for Perry, I’d be very happy with that trade.

But we really need to stop Romney in South Carolina.

I think you’re right. Newt and Santorum should have read enough tea leaves to realize NH was a waste of time and gone on to SC as Perry did.

At least Perry can justify his low showing by saying that he didn’t run there.

They can’t.

Perry is not doing well in NH and didnt do well in Iowa either. He is terrible during the debates. Newt would have won in Iowa if not for Mitt’s super pacs.

Eleven days until January 21, the next primary, the South Carolina primary. Eleven days to knock Romney back down into the pack.

Huntsman first political job was ambassador to Singapore at like age 30. Helps when Dad’s a billionaire campaign donor.

Get off it, Katie. Perry didn’t run in NH.

Perry was second in free republic polling that Jim did.

Unfortunately, free republic is not the world.

Huntsman’s wife likely fell in love with him for his....father’s multi-millions :) She married a very good bank account.

Hang in there Gunder. This used to be an open forum where you could freely express ideas.

I am a strong conservative, who’s first vote went to Regan. I’ve been a paying member since 1998, but get raked over the coals if I even mention “his name”.

It’s a shame. Used to, I came to FR daily because it was the only place I could get the truth.

You have to go on the Tea Party sites and blog hard for Newt or Perry. You have to make your voice heard and back it up with issues. You can go to state sites too and send emails. I spent 30 mins arguing on a Tea Party site with some Paul and Perry supporters...my man is still Newt!

Polls, all over the place, have essentially replaced two much more important things in these races for nomination:

The actual People's voice/votes

The Delegate Tote Scoreboard.

In the old days from Iowa onward, they would with each report (CBS, NBC, ABC did this all the time, I remember Cronkite or Chancellor saying this) something like "and as of today, here is the current delegate count for the GOP nomination... Sen. () has ( ), Gov. () has ( ), Fmr. Gov. () has, with ( ) delegates needed to nominate."

It was basic civics for the American People and it also put things in perspective at the end of most political update reports and finished primaries. I want to start seeing delegate tabulation tables now. If the MSM wont put it up (they did not last time, that is how they could dismiss people like Hunter who actually gained Wyoming delegates pledged), then the Web/Conservative internet should do it. Anyone else with me on this? "Front runner" is too fuzzy of a concept and definition when left subjectively in the hands of an MSM which wants to knock out all Conservatives, inflate RINOs' results, and create the mirage of bandwagons.

I had high hope for Perry coming out of the gate and he was my candidate. I knew he could easily beat Obama. But he should have gotten in sooner and honed his message and skills while no one was paying attention. Too many high profile gaffs. Sad really.
