The governments actions in a dispute between the Environmental Protection Agency and a husband and wife targeted by the agency when they bought a residential lot in Idaho and started building their dream home are both outrageous and very strange.
There were comments today from justices on the U.S. Supreme Court about the Environmental Protection Agencys actions in a fight with Mike and Chantell Sackett, of Priest Lake, Idaho.
Their case began in 2005 when the Sacketts were working on their dream home. Their land, purchased for $23,000, is about two-thirds of an acre and is about 500 feet from the water in Priest Lake, Idaho. Houses are on the surrounding lots and their land lacked standing water or a creek. They obtained all the needed county permits for their work.
But while they were working on foundation preparations, the EPA agents arrived, claimed the property is wetlands and ordered them to stop work and launch a full restoration project that even included installing plants that were not native at their own expense. They were told after they guarded the land for several years they would be allowed to pay $250,000 to request permission to complete their home.

The E.P.A. should be disbanded and ALL its employees should be hung.
All bolds adjusted for clarity. No offense to Hanover Fiste from Heavy Metal the Movie....
BINGO! "Hey they're building on the park next door. We can't have that. Call Charlie and have it stopped!"
Find out who it was, and have them removed for violation of another person's property rights.
The Army Corps of Engineers also sticks its nose into 'wetlands' property and any building near 'it'. And like with the EPA you have zero recourse except to comply. Hopefully at the beginning of your construction.
And that still costs the owner money for design changes. Not as much as these BS EPA 'fines', but it's still your money going out.
Looks more like a Carroll than a Carol.
Or one of the neighbors had a friend at the EPA, and the neighbor wanted to keep the lot open without buying it.
“Someone at the EPA wanted that property for themselves.”
Nope, this was extortion, plain and simple. It’s the same MO the neo-Nazis at EPA did in Rapanos v US. And yes, the pigs at EPA are Nazis.
Back in 2004, after the USSC ruled against the EPA pigs in Rapanos, Congress had a chance to investigate these Nazi pigs and throw them in prison. I would’ve hanged these EPA pigs for treason. The fact that Congress refuses to rein in these Nazi dogs at EPA tells you all you need to know about the criminal fascist syndicate occupying Washington.
Congress may have another two years to clean out the Washington criminal syndicate. After that, it will be cleaned out by the states and citizens on their own terms. And it will get very bad and ugly for the criminals in DC.
I thought some of the cross was interesting, though any long-time court watcher will tell you that you can't necessarily discern how a Justice will vote based on questions made during orals. Several like to play devil's advocate. As usual, Thomas didn't ask any questions, as is generally his way. I've read that he considers orals to be more theater than substance.
Congress made all of these departments so that regulations could be made to control the land and the congress didn’t have to answer to the people for it...they have clean hands when it comes to dictatorial “regulations”. Hey its not our fault its the EPA and they could pull them back but don’t cause they like the regulations...
He removed the tagging and continued to dig a new well...the next time the inspector came to tell him to stop he had a sidearm and stopped the guy at his property line and told him that if they trespassed again on his land without permission, he would meet them with the gun in his hand....It was his equipment and there was no well digger they could threaten with removal of license. He told them on his property he could do any Fu**ing thing he wanted and didn't need a permit to dig his own well..(I am using clean language here, leave it to your imagination what a pissed off farmer would say)
They left him alone to finish digging his own well. He is the type of guy I wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of and the inspector believed he would do what he said he would do....He is a quite bad ass from the soles of his feet to the top of his head....
A real sweet guy, this was about 20 years ago...I just got a email from her that her husband is ticked off that he cannot legally shoot his son-in-law. But he'd give you the shirt off his back if you needed it...
When I say he is a nice guy, I mean it, just don't send some dumb ass to tell him what he can and cannot do on his property. Townships are facists also.....
