Jesses Statement:
The event this man spoke of never happened. I have been to Mc Ps many times since leaving the Navy. I was never there alone. I was always accompanied by other people. If this happened 6 years ago, someone would have known of it before now. Certainly in the UDT/SEAL community it would have been known. This has to be news to all of us.
I have always opposed the war in Iraq but I have never spoken or wished any ill will towards the soldiers. My heart aches that soldiers have died or been wounded because this war should never have taken place. I am perplexed over the agenda this man has and why a fellow Navy Seal would tell a lie about an event that never happened.
Clearly between this story and the previous weeks story about supposedly getting pulled over for tailgaiting in CA that was also a lie, someone is out to destroy my credibility. I find it very interesting that both these stories are being spread by Fox news and its affiliates. As a Navy veteran you realize you cant believe every sea story you hear. Let me finish by stating both of the recent two national stories about me are completely untrue lies, neither event ever happened.
People like Ventura or Ron Paul attack Fox News, but say they’re not liberals.
As for the he said, he said it’s an often repeated situation and you believe who you want to believe...
but this SEAL hero has laid his life on the line for his country and IMO the less personal info out here on him, the harder it might be for the bad guys to get to him...
I know it’s easy to get this info - I just cringe when it’s put up on FR...just me.
He’s a revolting POS...
I’d like to see him do it on this side of the pond...
Jesse is NOT Ronin, however. Not enough integrity. I used to like him, but when he started acting like an Alex Jones clone and worse started making his living doing that, I turned him off.
The truth is at the end of the trail. Also many a hero sold his soul for money, fame, or favors. The boys business stands to get big contracts in the middle east. The government contact awards are a dirty business these days. Keep looking at this before you side with one or another.
Gee, can’t imagine what motive Ventura would have to deny it
Seems a simple solution for this .... Jesse’s DD214 will have his NEC (sort of like a MOS or AFSC ? I think).
UDT guys were allegedly 5321s and SEALs were 5326s..... (Travis can confirm for us if thats true)
Show us a DD214 Jesse or continue down liars boulevard to wannabe road.
Stay Safe Piasa !!!
Are you saying conservatives can’t dislike Fox News?
Leave Paul and Ventura out of it—they’re not conservatives; they’re nuts.
I’m a conservative and I can’t watch more than 5 minutes of Fox News.
No, I mean they don’t attack CNN or MSNBC. They attack Fox News first. I don’t like Fox News anymore, but it’s better than the other stations.
The NEC number 5326 vs 5321 was very much a reality. Ventura never said he served AT a SEAL Team. He says in his autobio something like, “After I finished SEAL Training, I was assigned to UDT-12.” But BUD/S Training means Basic Underwater Demolition Slash SEAL Training. If you don’t go to a SEAL team, and complete 6 months proby time, then another intensive round of SEAL training in-house, and complete a deployment, then you don’t get the gold trident and are not a SEAL. Especially true during the VN war, when 34 guys from ST1 were killed vs 1 UDT-12. For a while there was a “just UDT” half trident, without the Eagle. Just for just UDT. But only for a while, then UDT and SEAL both wore gold tridents, but only SEAL Team members were SEALs. UDT were frogmen and teammates, but not SEALs until 1983 when all UDTs werr recommissioned as newly converted SEAL Teams. I was in Beirut when UDT-21 became SEAL Team 4. Mal Ad Osteo.
Was that recommissioning from UDT to SEAL retrograde back to Jesse’s time in service or those active duty at the time only ?
bad to the bone....I have seen that written a few times....:o)
Damn.
I was just given “American Sniper” for my b’day and confirmed by a SEAL that Chris Kyle is the real deal.
The “I punched and ran” story doesn’t ring true.
Anyone but a coward would have stood up and said something first. Hitting someone and running is acting like a girl.
If there WERE witnesses in the alleged bar fight, Ventura would have made headlines such as "Ex-Minnesota Governor Ventura gets decked in bar fight...". Ventura may be a conspiracy nut but I'm not buying the story one bit.
Mr. Kyle also claims that after he decked Ventura, he ran off. I don't see that happening........
BINGO.......we have a winner
Nope. UDTs were team members and frogmen, but they were not SEALs until the UDTs became STs in 1983.
They can rightly claim after about 1981 that the UDTs were “just like STs” in training, equipment etc, as the change was in the pipeline. But until then, UDTs were NEC 5321, and SEALs were NEC 5326. And that’s what was on the DD-214 and official records.
In my case, coming out of BUD/S in late 1979, the policy for officers was you would go to either a UDT or a SEAL team for 2 years (the ensign tour) and then switch to the other for the next 2 years, (the LTJG tour) to make you well rounded.
On my dream sheet, I just said I wanted to go to the east coast as my pref, either UDT or SEAL first. By the luck of the draw I went to ST2 first, then UDT-21, which by the time I arrived was already “virtually” another SEAL Team based on gear and training. But until the official change, new guys there who had never been assigned to a SEAL Team could not rightly say they were SEALs.
Up until the 1980s, the UDTs were structured in bigger platoons around their mission of conducting hydrographic recon for the fleet, and these “lead-line platoons” mainly deployed aboard amphib ships supporting the fleet and the USMC landing forces. SEAL platoons went from 14 guys (VN holdover, 2X7 man squads) to 16 guys (SAS model, 4X4 or 2X8).
SEALs got what were considered the more glamorous assignments, sometimes riding ships, but often jetting around Europe or Asia on cross-training tours with allied forces. Meanwhile, the “just UDT” guys were stuck on ships most all the time. Many strived to get a transfer to a SEAL Team, others were happy where they were. But in 1983, they all became SEALs, officially.
“”The film Ronin””
That was it - thanks a lot. I do remember now. Great movie.
Sucker punched Ventura, then ran away...
...Kyle then punched him and took off running!...
