Pirates? Did they attempt to take over the vessel? Not their purpose. PROTEST, ever hear of the word?

These inept bunch of hippies have done more to save whales than anything the gubmimt is doing. They are holding their gubmints feet to the fire. I give them a lot of credit for sticking up for a cause (a very worthy cause) they believe in. They literally risk their lives for what they believe in. You have to admire them for that.

I for one can't wait for the next episodes, looks like they will be doozies.

You have the right to protest, but not damage property or risk other’s lives, which these idiots do too often.

Let’s hope they enjoy their stay in the Japanese Hilton.

Keep in mind that Norway takes more whales than Japan. No need to go to the Southern ocean. The pirates could try to take over Norse ships, but that would be a losing proposition. I understand the Norse have lengths of chain ready to help the pirates help the whales by converting them to fish food.

Communists risk their lives for what they believe in, too.

F***ing hippies can die.

Did they attempt to take over the vessel?

Absolutely! Their entire purpose is to take over the ship and redirect its mission to something other than taking whales. You've just redefined piracy with the word protest and think that makes the activity acceptable.

Yes, I have heard the word 'protest.' It can be done, in this case, from land. A protest is strictly verbal. Once physical actions takes place, i.e. blocking access, physical confrontation, boarding ships, you have escalated past 'protest' to 'prevention' and 'provocation.'

By definition they are pirates. They boarded a vessel with the intent to do harm and in my opinion they should have been shot on site.

That would have made for some good TV.

So you’re ok with protestors breaking into your home at night and terrorizing your family so long as they aren’t trying to settle there?

forcing your way onto a vessel is piracy... hell, even the coast guard or sheriff has to ask your permission to board your vessel....(if you did not ask for and receive permission to board, you have forced your way aboard)

you can protest in public areas... in some countries... but in VERY few countries, ie: NONE, do you have ANY right to enter private property without permission and start ‘protesting’ via sabotage

if someone walked into your home to rip up your bible or tear your tv from the wall.. you’d be within your rights to shoot them

toss the hippies overboard... from the bow of the ship

As Thomas Sowell has said:

Sloppy words and sloppy thinking often go together, both in the mobs and in the media that are covering them. It is common, for example, to hear in the media how some "protesters" were arrested. But anyone who reads this column regularly knows that I protest against all sorts of things -- and don't get arrested.

The difference is that I don't block traffic, join mobs sleeping overnight in parks or urinate in the street. If the media cannot distinguish between protesting and disturbing the peace, then their education may also have wasted a lot of taxpayers' money.

Yes, my tax money has been wasted.

The 9/11 terrorists gave up their lives for what they believed in. Do you admire THEM as well?

These guys are engaging in sabotage. They should be shot, or at least made to walk the plank.

“These inept bunch of hippies have done more to save whales than anything the gubmimt is doing”

If you believe that liberal nonsense then you don’t know what the various governments worldwide actually have done and you insult their hard work.
