Report: Missing Texas 14-year-old mistakenly deported to Colombia

DALLAS - A 14-year-old Texas girl who has been missing since 2010 was mistakenly deported to Colombia by immigration agents and is now sitting in a detention facility waiting to come home.

According to CBS affiliate KHOU Jakadrien Turner ran away from home in the fall of 2010 following her parents divorce and the death of her grandfather. She ended up in Houston, where she was arrested for theft. The girl gave police a fake name, which apparently belonged to a 22-year-old illegal immigrant from Colombia, who had warrants for her arrest.

The young lady was arrested for theft, and gave the authorities someone else’s name. That person had a warrant for an arrest and was here illegally. Government operated properly and sent her away based on her falsified information. The perfect plan fell apart for the young lady with serious consequences.

She had to know she was being deported yet still kept her mouth shut.

Once she gave her name while being fingerprinted, that name will always be associated with her fingerprints which are supplied and kept by the FBI. And she was deported.

Maybe she was on a pubskewl fueled big hate-USA kick as well as whatever the tiff was with her family. So it was an Excellent Adventure for her when she embarked. But it soon got old being a maid in Columbia, and I’m assuming her pregnancy was from a tryst by choice but who knows.

The Fingerprint is the Data point that the records should be based on, ie it don’t change. Using a name without verifying it, is a comedy that is Gov’t.

A lot of people give erroneous information when fingerprinted. The FBI never erases it. They will always have the false name associated with the fingerprints. And welcome to FR.

The kid got bloody lucky; ended up in a Columbian work program rather than in a Columbian brothel. This story could have gotten a whole lot worse.

Particularly considering that she is a candidate for youngest recipient of the Darwin Award.

I'd say it's more terrifying than comedy. Deporting based only on a name is scary. I know some folks find it funny or think she learned a lesson, but what if you share a name with somebody who is a criminal/illegal? We hear about people ending up on no-fly lists because of mistaken identity. This kind of crap should concern people.
