Live thread to cover today's GOP caucus. News, predictions, opinions, totals, and the like.
Will be heading out about 4 pm or so to get our site ready and do a final review with the precinct chairs. I expect it to be bigger than 2008 with very heavy turnout and we are preparing for that.
We are also ready for disruptions. They simply won't be tolerated. The state party sent us a memo saying if there's any trouble call the cops immediately. Anyone trying to cause problems is going to get a rude awakening.
My predictions of the outcome are a narrow field with about a 10 point spread for the top five with Bachmann far behind in single digits:
Santorum - 24 Romney - 22 Paul - 20 Perry - 17 Gingrich - 14 Bachmann - 4 The Rest - 1
Think things are still in flux and many won't decide till right to the wire, so I'm not terribly confident of any predictions.
All candidates were His creation but when the “Iranians are with the bad angels” common sense elixir was being given to all the candidates, Ron Paul was behind the door, or stuck in the restroom or something...
Thanks for that!
Here’s another, a .pdf file of his remarks:

This is why the liberals hate him. It’s ALWAYS about abortion with this people.
Facts. I don’t care what Iowans have to say about candidates. Its a small pork barrel state (farm subsidies)who do not represent America. This foolishness that they go first needs to be sent to the circular file with the rest of the outdated concepts.
“Ron Paul - faux Constitutionalist”
Yup, plus the Ron Paul camp are sending out lying robo calls saying that Santorum is pro-choice.
But yet Santorum is strongly pro-life, personally and in public life, while Ron Paul is not as pro-life as he claims to be. Paul only received a 65% rating from the National Right-Life Committee:
Rated 56% by the NRLC, indicating a mixed record on abortion. (Dec 2006)”

Iowa Rage.
So what’s the weather doing up in Iowa this evening?
Clear, calm and cold.
?
Drudge’s poll is horse crap as you can vote early and often...gee, ya think Paul fans and libs and interns a the MSN outlets are paid to vote, vote, and vote???
I was disappointed that Drudge did that. Should have at least limited people to one vote if he was going to have any credibility.
Does anyone know approximately what time we can expect results? I am not that familiar with caucus procedures. Thanks.
Seriously..With as happy go lucky/pissed off that it seems everyone is with Iowa, this thread is pretty sparse on info and posts thus far.
One more hour
Thank you FRiend! Should produce a good turnout.

ak267 is on site in Iowa campaigning for Sarah Cuda Palin! He's written a beautiful tribute, too.
Prayers for Iowa voters to realize that they shouldn't be fooled and swayed by the attack ads they claim to hate.
If they really, truly can't vote for our best choice to beat Obama, Newt Gingrich, then I pray they vote for Sarah Cuda Palin!
in 08 they called it for Huckabee around 8:55, but he won by 9. This looks to be a bit closer so we may not know until past 10 or even closer to 11
I’m also disappointed in Newt. One thing I loved about him in the debates is how he wouldn’t say anything negative to the other candidates. Now he’s verbally lashing Romney at every turn.
Is this a strategy or unintentional?
